What i'd do with the puppy shot is take the grass and clone out the concrete in the upper left. making that grass repeat will make the background (especially that concrete area) less noticeable, and put the focus on your pup, which i'm guessing is where you want it.

It's a pretty historical shot. Today we had a very important Press conference over here about our presidency for the Europeen community. And this very morning our Grand-Duchesses died at the age of 77.
I found this image pretty significant. The Europeen falg an our flag in the pale winter sun floating on half pole as a signe of national mourning.
