Why aren't all AT&T stores carrying it?

1,800 will have it. There are a little under 200 apple stores so there will be almost 2,000 retail locations to buy the phone on Friday.

I believe he's inquiring upon why won't all AT&T Stores (Corporate and Retail) be selling the iPhone.

Uh, coz they said only the corporately owned stores would sell the iPhone (at least initially). The answer to why is that the corporation gets all the profits associated with the phone and accessories and everything else. No funny discounting, no raffle or highest bidder schemes, etc.
