If you don't have enough apps of a category, they get bumped into Other. For me, Maps is in Travel, as I have 11 travel related apps. The App Library tries to group similar categories together (Travel and Navigation into 1 category. Books, News and weather gets bundled into Information and Reading).

Finance apps, provided the developer set the primary category as Finance, it would be Productivity & Finance.

What is the minimum for a category?

I have Apple and Google Maps move to Other along with Parking Spot. Half my Games are there (3). Parler is in Other instead of Social. Judging by this unless you have 4+ app for a category you get “Other”d.
That seems beyond strange.

Update:
I went into the App Library on my IPP 11. Wonder if the rules are device type specific. On the iPad Pro I have folders in the App Library with only one app in them. On the iPad Productivity and Finance are one folder while on the 12 ProMax they are split; Productivity folder and a Finance folder.

Interestingly odd....

Apple have not said what the minimum is. I would think maybe 4-5.

Parler is likely wrong category chosen, or maybe they put Social as the secondary category, instead of Primary.

With the differences on iPad, all the same apps? Or more on one device than the other? App Library on iPad is only in iOS 15, which is in beta, so maybe some changes coming to it due to that.

Apps in category folders is different between the iPad and iPhone for me. iPad looks more like iOS 14 than what I am seeing on the iPhone under 15.

Did some playing around last night and comparing. For the iPad I can have as low as one app for a category while on the iPhone I can’t tell. Example: I have four Games and all go into Other while I for Health I have four but it has it’s own folder.

Update: in Other it is Pinterest, not Parler. Parler shows up in Info and Reading. For Pinterest the category is Lifestyle.

Does anyone know if the app Library can be moved or hidden from the dock on iPadOS?

For example, can you move it off the dock and onto the home screen like a normal folder?
Are there any other ways to access the app library on the iPad?

Thanks!
In the Home Screen can not be removed or hidden, this thing is really bad.😡
