Anyone having any issues with app updates recently?

I'm noticing that various updates are appearing but aren't getting downloaded and installed when I tap on the Update button or the Update All link in the App Store--it looks like things start to update and then they go back to just showing the update being available.

This is on iPhone 6 running iOS 9.3.3.

Have you tired the usual? Reboot? Log out of AppStore and log in again? Updating app in iTunes and sync to device? Deleting app & reinstalling?

I guess I should have mentioned something about troubleshooting. Yeah, short of essentially resetting all settings or reinstalling completely, I've tried most of the more typical things like resetting the phone, refreshing the App Store cache, logging out and back into the App Store, etc. Haven't tried much with iTunes as I generally don't use iTunes (and realistically even if that installs the updates it doesn't really address the part about why updates aren't mostly working right suddenly on the iPhone itself).

Experiencing the same thing here. A few apps updated fine but several try to download but never complete. Also unable to download the app updates in iTunes.

Interesting. I just got another update and selecting Update gets the spinning circle to show up for a moment and then it changes back to the Update button. I had to try to select Update a few times like that before it finally didn't change back and actually downloaded and installed the update. The experience earlier today with some other updates was fairly similar--some would only update after a few tries, while others wouldn't until many more tries over a period of a few hours (I would just come back every now and then and try those updates a few times).

At the same time, installing new apps from the App Store, or reinstalling previously installed apps (which I've removed at some point) seems to work just fine on the first time, as it always has.

I tried updating Microsoft Word and Excel yesterday. Both are 500 MB. They got all the way around the update circle indicator, and then flicked back to the beginning. I had to click Update again, then they finished successfully after apparently downloading a second time. I'm not happy if I just burned 1 GB of data.

I've had that kind of thing happen a few times in the past few days too, which is a bit more frequent than in the past when that kind of thing would only happen here or there only once in a while. With what's been happening today (at least for me on my phone) I've been thinking that there might be some sort of App Store server issues perhaps, which is partially what prompted me to create this thread to see if others were noticing any issues.

I had problems earlier today too and that other day when someone else posted that it was happening to them.
Something similar to tapping on Update and it going back to showing Update again almost right away (without even downloading/installing anything)?

9.3.3 download traffic?
Could certainly be that as well as all the new betas that were released earlier this week and today as well. I kind of figured their App Store servers would be separate from update and download servers, but even so there are the CDNs to consider, which are likely shared among them all.

I have been (and continue to) having this issue. Yesterday there were 10 or so updates when I went into it, 8 installed using "Update All", 2 hung up, and required me to stop and restart them for them to install.

This problem was driving me nuts until I just uninstalled the offending app (Netflix). I tried the usual reboot, clear App Store cache log out, and etc, until I gave in and just nuked the app. Reinstalled it and the error (?) disappeared.

Things seem to be back to normal today as far as updates go (at least with a couple that have come through so far). Go figure.

(That's not counting a bunch of random dust storm warning emergency alerts that were coming through all throughout last night out of nowhere.)

Perhaps I spoke a bit too soon. Still getting some updates that occasionally exhibit the weird behavior from yesterday.

Also now seeing an update that is exhibiting a slightly different behavior that I encountered with another update a few days ago where the update actually gets downloaded and installed (seemingly) correctly, but going back to the App Store shows the same update as being available once again.

It has been days and I've signed out and signed in, and rebooted my phone but whenever I click update, it does nothing. It says "waiting" but nothing happens, no progress or any prompt.
This is on 9.3.2 and now I've updated to the latest software update and the problem is still there.

So i assume this has not been solved to anyone experiencing the same issue with updating?

I still experienced one or two occasions recently with some strange behavior when it came to updating some apps, but things have been seemingly better over the last day or two.

I was just looking some app and appstore were blank totally. Didnt respond anything and didnt show any content - only white pages and the bottom row "search, ... Etc" buttons.. Had to couple of times to close the app to get it work again.

Looks like the original issue is back in full force today all of a sudden.
