So strange. I updated 4 apps this morning (around 7:15am) and didn't not have any troubles. Wonder why it's so intermittent
Not sure. Most worked just fine over the last few days and then suddenly today pretty much none of them would download/install like before.

Some of the apps updated for me yesterday while the others did not. Have not tested as of today yet. What is going on? Server issues?

Does this issue happen just for updates, or for new downloads, too?
I just got my new iPad Pro 9.7 today (first iPad, yay!), and I downloaded and installed 2 apps with no problem, but now I can't download any more. Just a spinning wheel that I can't seem to cancel.
If it's a general issue for everyone I'll wait patiently, but if new dl's is an issue just for me, I'd like to find out why.

This issue is typical for the app store, it's been off and on over the last six months or so.

It's what makes the Apple Ecosystem experience frustrating. Once upon a time Apple provided an excellent experience. But like everything else Apple circa 2016... It's hit and miss, buggy and sub par. A direct reflection of Apple’s shift in priorities.

Google and Android are the benefactors, Apple's complacency has made it easy for the competition to showcase their superior products and services.

Thanks. This is my first experience with iOS. Is there any way to cance these downloads, or will they just show up one day?

Have you tried restarting your device?

No, I guess that's an obvious first step for iOS, but that would be a last step on OSX. I thought there might be a way to cancel.
I'll try it now.

Apple needs to sort this out, it is really wasting our time and money to keep downloading the same bunch of data several times. Really frustrated with it. First, I thought our Internet Service Provider is the culprit. Maybe we need to viral this before Apple can take it seriously.

I'm having this issue with two apps, Best Buy and Nextdoor. There error I get in iTunes is: "There was a problem downloading the artwork for Best Buy." If you look on the iTunes Preview page for both these apps, you can see that the app icon will not load. Looks like this is an Apple issue.

I'm having an issue with the Best Buy app too. There was an update this morning, downloaded it and the pop up said cannot download at this time. I deleted the app, thinking I could just re-download it, but nope! It won't even let me download it from the App Store it just gives me the same pop up. And the App Store is stuck with the red update badge. I've tried everything and don't know what else to do.

It's rather strange and annoying how this issue just randomly comes up these days--there will be days of updates working without any issues and then suddenly they'll start exhibiting issues again (until they randomly stop again, only to seemingly start days later).

Perhaps even stranger is that another device--basically the same model running the same version of iOS that is configured the same way with mostly similar apps--hasn't exhibited any of these issues at any point and will update the same apps that have updates without any issues.

Yes this has been happening to me TONS. Sometimes my fat fingers rapidly jamming "update" soft reboot phone to apple logo. It's not a good situation but it's definitely happening to me.

Edit: this has been happening to me every day for a week or so now.

Edit2: my issues come and go. Eventually if I wait a few hours updates download. It's like "peak times" during day at worst or something??

Basically exactly the same thing here, at least with one iPhone, while the other one won't exhibit any of these issues and download the same updates pretty much as soon as they are available without any issues.

For me is doing same on my IPP as well. Have tried wifi and no wifi as well and doesn't seem to make any difference. Seems later in day I wait to mess with it the more likely it is to work.
