Giant images and no way to view reviews by date. Now I have to wade through 6-yr-old app reviews, which are worthless.

App Store is crap on iOS 11

yep. been like this thru the betas. Submitted feedback to sort all reviews by date. Beyond stupid why you want to see a review from years ago. By now, the app will be on a different version. Maybe they will initiate sorting when the public release is live.
You also can no longer see the size of the updated app without clicking on each app and scrolling down. You don't know if the update is 10 Mb or 200 Mb. It's annoying.
You should always start from a clean install to remove old beta files. Restoring a backup from a beta can also restore old beta files as well.
One thing that drives me insane about it is the games that still appear in the Apps tab. For example, under "New Apps We Love" today, there's "Care Bears & Amigos in NYC" with the subtitle "30 games in Spanish and English." It's category is "Games: Educational"... so why isn't it under Games instead? It's not just that one, but there are a lot of others if you look at the top app charts.
But overall Schiller has absolutely destroyed the ability to quickly browse the store. You see so little content at once (even on the 7 Plus). Perhaps their goal is to force developers to advertise at the top of search results? My guess is the selling of ad space in iOS App Stores is why they removed the app store from iTunes last night.
Another rant would be about why "Full Fitness" is constantly in the top 10 paid apps for the past year? The app looks horribly made compared to other workout trackers, and searching social media for it, literally no one is talking about this app. My guess would be that they're using click farms to buy the app with their own money and taking the 30% loss to Apple to increase visibility and con people into buying it? – but that's pure speculation.

Unfortunately they already have auto playing videos if you go to the games tab, and scroll down a bit. Thankfully you can turn that off or limit it to 'only on wifi' instead of 'wifi + cellular' in the app store settings.

To be fair, it never did this. The size that it showed on the update page was the size of the app, and not the size of the delta update you were getting.
Only updated code or updated "parts" of the app are being downloaded?? I assumed the entire updated app was being downloaded. Thanks.
I’ve always regarded the App Store team as borderline incompetent. Terrible design choices and often it takes ages to load anything. The network limitations on download sizes were idiotic too.
The only thing that really bugs me about the new App Store is that I can no longer see the size of the updates. Either that, or I'm going blind.

I have two IDs. The one for iCloud is a mac.com (French)
The one for App Store is a gmail.com (US)
All my apps and content are with the gmail.com . I do have a few important apps from the french App Store , so I change App Stores from time to time to update them.

As I posted a few replies up - you could never see the size of the update, that was just the size of the whole app.

I agree that the new App Store is a big downgrade. One thing I looked forward to every Thurs is the free app of the week, which I can't find anywhere in iOS 11 App Store. There's an "App/Game of the day" but it's not the same since that's just calling out some highlights but not necessarily free.

I do the same thing for US & Canada. I don't see why this would change in iOS 11. Just log out from your current store in settings and login into the alternative one.
I don't know where to find the section Free App of the Week. The previous one I could find them in a banner inside Featured sections. Now I can only see App of the Day.
what has been bothering me since the last few App Store „updates“ is that those cards dont even properly aline to the screen and the next one cuts half way off. Shows their lack of attention to details. I am sure this would have pissed steve the hell off lol
