I am also getting long lags on the app switcher which can last for many sections on my iPad air 2. Worse experience I have had on any iPad since the first original iPad.

I don't have any issues with my 7+ or iPad Air 2. The app switcher works just fine without delay. In the 10.3 released thread they posted there's a 2 second delay in the bugs section. Curious as to why some people may see it and others like me don't.

I don't mean lag. I mean the delay. Double press home button and go into an app then quickly double tap home button again and it won't do anything,

Mine seems ok, maybe try a quick reset to see if that solves it for you? I do that after all updates.

BTW. I typically just press the home button once to leave the app switcher and go back home. Why double tap it?

EDIT : Sometimes double tapping does in fact cause my phone to not respond while in the app switcher if I do it quick enough. However like I mentioned I don't see a reason to actually do that in real world use.

I often notice this when i want to switch quickly to the camera app and i end up on the home screen. Now that u pointed it out to me it cannot be unseen. Argh

Zero issues doing exactly that on my 7Plus. Works perfectly.

It's easy to reproduce and very annoying.
1. Double press to get into multitasking
2. Tap to Select an app
3. As soon as you're in that app try double-ckicling again and nothing happens.

There is a delay at least on my 7 Plus and iPad Pro.

Does not happen on my 7Plus. Tried a dozen times.

I just got this same behavior on an iPhone SE on 10.2.1. There's a 1 second delay in the multitasking.

I get what you guys having problems are saying. Seriously, no delay here. I have done it several times today and no delay. Doesn't matter how quickly I double tap after doing it to get in to an app and then to another.

I too did not have any beta's installed.

Some have asked why we want to do this. Simple, working in two or three different apps, it's the quickest way to get between them.

I just verified this on an iPhone SE, an iPad Pro, an iPhone 7 Plus and an iPhone 6. Each one is doing the exact same thing. I'm not sure how some of you are not seeing it.
Not a huge bother, but if you're switching between apps a lot, it's definitely noticeable and frustrating.

I can reproduce what the guy is talking about on my 7 Plus, but this will never affect me. I don't go to an app from the app switcher and then immediately want to open the app switcher again.

I can reproduce this on my 6s as well, but only if you do it immediately. If you wait a second after opening the app using the app switcher then it works as normal. Not sure why you would want to immediately switch apps again without even looking at the app you just opened?

If you have a bunch of apps open and select the wrong one from the switcher, or have to work between different apps and forget where you are, this is quite an inconvenience.

I managed to reproduce it on my SE, but not all the times, one being when I switched to 1Password, which tries to read my fingerprint to unlock, and this probably messes with the input.. Forgive me if I'm saying some nonsene, but my humble guess (I'm no iOS dev or "expert") is, if iOS has to reload an app that was halted due to memory constraints, it might not be readly available, even to the 7 Plus hardware.

I understand it can be annoying for those who might need an extremely fast switch between apps. It's not my case, though. I always return to home screen when I want to switch apps, since from the 55 apps I have installed, just a few are used frequently. But that's just me..

Happens on my iPhone 5, iPhone 6, iPhone 7 Plus, iPad Air 2 and my sisters iPhone 6S.

Some of you are probably not doing it "right".

It is a bit annoying when you constantly switch between twitter, snapchat, fb, safari and instagram like me. It sort of gets "stuck" and i end up on the spring board
