I like iOS 9 so far, apart from one thing. I don't like the new interface of the app switcher (or whatever it's called) when you double press the Home button to switch between your open apps.

Is there an option in settings to revert back to the old interface please?

Thank you.

No. But you'll get used to it. It's great for skimming through app contents.

It’s horrible. More complex than before and just not a clear. It serves no useful benefit overt the previous.

Try closing everything and re-booting your device…..boom they're back!

My issue with it, is that it's poor for comparing info.
If you've got edge to edge info on one app screen, and want to quickly glance to type it into another app, you can't see the right hand edge because the "closest" app is covering it.
It's only a small bit that's covered up, but I find it covering up just enough to be frustrating.

Ok thanks. I wouldn't mind, but the little red numbered notifications have gone.

and that. It's one of those things that sits in the back of your mind telling you something is missing.
I find myself skipping over, say, Mail app in the switcher, only to go back to home screen and see I have unread emails. Then opening Mail app.

exactly !!! The badges for apps are gone when in app switching ... Do I really have to go into the imessage app to see if I got a message instead of just seeing a badge icon when I use app switching ??? Who is the genius behind these decision ?? Why have no one mention this to Apple in the open betas ??? I hardly think I am the only one who thought this was useful ...........

Just submitted an "enhancement request" in 9.1 beta. Worth a shot I guess

I KNEW something was missing besides "favourites" but couldn't put my finger on it

It's a bit jarring at first, but now I'm thinking that content in those cards is a lot more legible than it used to be. A common way I use the task switcher is to quickly refer to something in another app without fully switching back to that app. In the old interface I could just barely read a lot of the small content. It seems much easier to read now. Maybe faster and smoother to scroll through the cards too?

not the best result... when switching apps, i usually miss the right one several times - moving too slippery... the same execution in android is way much better.

The biggest deal for me with the app switcher is that it now shows when airplay mirroring. Prior, when using my iDevice to present, I could switch apps without the audience seeing. Now it is displayed in all its carousel glory.

Be sure to turn off the porn in the web browser before App Switch in front of audience ! lol :p

As well as being worse in usability terms, it also stutters incredibly frequently on my 6 Plus. Flicking to the end of the app cards then pressing the home button results in an awful animation which just goes to a blank screen before all icons just appear without animation. It's very poor.

It also drops many frames on my iPad Air making it a stuttery mess.

I obviously bought the wrong iOS devices. My friend's 5s and Air 2 seem to animate flawlessly.

I'm not a fan of it. Why mess with something that worked well enough to begin with
Or rather; worked better.
You can't even see the app to the right of the current one, and barely make out the next one in the stack.
To use a direct analogy; what is the benefit in having a deck of cards where you can only see the top card vs. having them spread in front of you to choose exactly the one you want.

They claim that it's better for 3D touch, but I don't understand that. You just press the edge of the screen to activate the old app switcher too.

Wow I'm pleased to see I'm not the only one who dislikes this and thanks for reporting it to Apple.

The only thing I don't like about it is how the Home Screen gets in the way of me closing out the last 2 apps.

Im not a fan of it either. Sometimes while Im flipping through, it'll register as a flip up and close the app. The problem is the apps opened in app switcher are much larger and the scrolling left to right is way too slippery.
