so it seems like older usb-c to lightning are gold and two charge chimes (I think I bought this one last year from Apple Store), and the new ones (at least 2018's) are silver pin on the box, cable, and one charge chime (that just takes a few seconds to initiate after plugging it in) that I just bought from Best Buy.

how weird!

From what I understand... double chime = fast charge. Single chime = normal charge.

The “gotcha” is silver pin lightning to usbc is single Chime AND for sure fast charges it’s bizarre. I’ve calculated it tho (time vs percentage increase) and it’s for sure fast charging lol

The gold does double chime

I have the original cables when they were first released. Curious if they changed it.

Just picked up two from my local store in Texas. They probably still had 10 left on the shelf.
