If Canon can get decent 3D spatial data with the lenses that close together, this would be awesome. Glad that the "old school" camera/lens folks can be so innovative (they were always great, just lost some turf re: phone capabilities). As I said with the iPad Calculator... Well done Apple (who I am sure worked closely with Canon).

Honestly, I kinda forgot porn was a thing. I mean, I know intellectually that it’s something that exists (I’m not sheltered), but it’s not content I go out and consume, so it’s not the first thing that occurs to me about stuff like this. So, what does occur to me? Well, with a PoV camera with this type of lens, you could film PoV video of stuff like skateboarding tricks or rollercoasters. 3D storm chasing video would be pretty cool, as well. There’s enough of a community of weather geeks online that storm chasers have taken to using Patreon to fund their storm chasing, and 3D storm chasing would legit be pretty cool!

Oh, PoV 3D driving videos of cars I’d never be able to afford to even rent, or PoV 3D flying videos! That would be cool, too! Get on it, GoPro!

Yeah, it would be nice if GoPro took another shot at VR. Insta360 really needs to bring back (or better yet, come out with a new and improved) Insta360 EVO.

I would like Canon to come out with a compact point and shoot camera that supported VR well. My old Fuji W3 is still one of my nicest devices for just carrying along in case something interesting is worth recording. An update to it to bring it 14 years newer in tech would be nice.

One of the coolest things announced today, and I can't wait to get more details on it (even as a Sony shooter who is very much hoping this spreads to other lens mounts). Wonder how they're saving recording the video on one sensor, probably just alternating frames, right?

Would be very very interesting to see Apple's reaction if the Vision Pro got associated as the best way to enjoy 3D/Virtual Porn due to AR quality.
One thing's for sure, they are never going to allow porn/adult apps on their Vision Pro store.
But would they want to detect and block such content from other ways of getting to the headset?

Every new vision technology had it's initial user growth driven by porn. Still photography, video, internet etc.

Apple are a bunch of hypocrites and weirdos when it comes to censorship and ideology. They are the sort of people that would read Orwell's "1984", and point the finger at the right wing, without realising that their own censorship and ideology is exactly what "1984" was warning against. Free speech has to be for everyone, and especially for the people you don't like, otherwise it isn't free speech at all.

Regardless, when money talks, Apple's ideology walks. Their only true god is money.
