I don't know that the OP meant it was make or break. The fact that they came out just one month ago, I'm sure there are plenty of people who have waited for Black Friday to see what discounts there will be. Saving money is saving money. Doesn't mean that it's make or break. $50 is $50.

Don't worry about KnightWRX - he likes to be a jackass in almost every thread he posts on.

Well, I've done it. Got a 13.3" Ultimate, AppleCare, super drive, international adapter pack and a copy of Parallels. Quite an outlay but I saved around £92 which is $145. Better in my pocket than Apple's, IMHO. Or better than a slap in the face with a wet fish as we say this side of the pond. YMMV;).

Cheers,

jahman

You are comparing laptop to car.

Obviously there is much more margin for companies when you buy a car or house. For laptop, there is a smaller margin than car and the house. When companies have more profits on the item they are about to sell, they will discount more. Also, I cannot even freaking believe you are comparing this laptop to house. 50-80 dollars isn't that much money at all. 2000 or 35000 dollars is.

Stay in your own logic. You just gave me a good laugh with comparing sale prices between laptop and the car. You even compared it to house. LOL.

Actually, the logic wasn't mine. I actually completely disagree with it (hence the question mark). I am merely illustrating how 5-8% discount is not as insignificant as one may put it.

If you are buying a laptop that costs 1000-1500 dollars and you are worrying about 70-80 dollars, then maybe, this laptop is not in your price range.

so, my new macbook air came in today via fedex (early, was expecting it monday!) and anyways, what are the chances i can get apple to knock 50 off (i used my student discount). Not a huge deal, just 50 bucks, but i had no idea they would discount a brand new machine, so i bought on monday via online, 13.3" 1.8ghz 4gb 128gb

Black Friday deal is only for 24 hours only. So, apple is not required to price match. I haven't seen any online or retail stores that price match BF prices.

You can call and ask.

Hmmm... Then I guess if I decide buy stock in XYZ corp. for $50 a share on Monday, and the price drops $5.00 on Tuesday, I should be able to call my broker back and ask for a price adjustment?

Amazon seems to have discounted prices on the 13 and 11 if anyone missed out yesterday.

Best Buy will refund the difference if you find a better price within 30 days. It isn't an unknown benefit at many retailers.
