$100 is pretty average for a bluetooth headset. And Apple is not average. It's definitely *not* bundled with the phone, and the price is definitely more than $100..I would also guess $130 or so.

Anyway, I think it's weird looking. How does it stay in your ear? It's a lever that isn't counterbalanced...And with one button I guess that means there's no volume control.

$100 is average huh? You're getting ripped off if you pay that much...Amazon has many BT headsets for a mere $25!

As someone said on this forum, this is where a little basic math is very helpful. Amazon sells bluetooth headsets ranging from $24 to $199. There are few items at either end of the spectrum - most are in the $25-$99 range. The average price is about $75 (calculated from the price ranges and the number of headsets offered in each range).

Which places Apple's headset at a comfortable above-average $100.

It hasn't been officially commented on, but I'm going to guess yes... And it's going to sound pretty bad. For listening to podcasts, it might be ok, but music... yikes.

I don't know why it would sound bad. Bluetooth has the capability to send high quality audio, and Apple has at least decent quality headphones in the stock iPod headphones. Of course, it's only one, so you wouldn't get stereo. (I'd like to see an accessory that is for the 'other' ear that connects to this one by a short cord that is just long enough to go around your head, maybe a 3' cord.)

Or maybe you can use a pair of these for stereo. :D

Wow, 3 feet to go around the back of your head!? You must have a HUGE head! :p

But seriously, that would be pretty cool!

3 feet to play it safe. I know that some headphones pop out of one ear if I twist my head a certain way because of the tug on the headphone cord.

Anyone think this will work with phones other than the iPhone? I've been wanting to get a bluetooth headset but they're all so clunky and ugly looking.

Also, I hate the little loop you have to hook around your ear on all the ones I've seen, so this in-ear design really excites me.

Same here. This would be the first BT headset I'd even think about wearing. All the others still look pretty nerdy.

Yeah I think I'd rather go with a JawBone as well. I dont trust earpieces that don't have an ear hook. I trust apple with a cellphone, but not with bluetooth earpieces.

only way the iphone will play music through bluetooth stereo headphones is if it supports A2DP. Do we know if the iPhone supports this or not?

on the site for these headphones it says something about an ipod adapter... most speculation thinks that any ipod accessory will still work with the iphone... so if that is true then this could work couldn't it?

i'm still a little torn the functionality of the jawbone is impressive and attractive, but so is the size and design of the apple one. wish i could combine them, i hate bulky bt headsets. the size has prevented me from buying them in the past.
