Just went through chat and was told: "At this time we are experiencing some reports of the ID verification process not working as expected. Rest assured we are working on this issue. I do not have an estimated resolution timeframe at this moment." and "We definitely appreciate your patience on this. As soon as our Engineering team releases details on a resolution we’ll be made aware and you can check back with us any time."

The ID thing is common but what’s not common is the recent applications thing

I’m hesitant to reapply after having been denied 5 times for them stating that I’m not me!
I think I’ll wait to hear if anyone comments that they are getting through with their Real IDs.

I had no problem using my new NYS Enhanced driver's license. I took a picture of the front and back and was approved almost immediately. I do have the 'Enhanced' license and not the 'Real ID' but it's the same principle. I think mine allows for international travel.

6th attempt, no change.
It’s just not meant to be.

Arkansas Real ID with a revision date of March 2018.
I guess I’ll just wait until Apple Card 2.0!!!

Did you make sure that the info that Apple already had matched your ID? I assume that you did but when I began the application process, Apple had my date of birth wrong by one day and I had to correct it. I almost didn’t notice this before I continued with my verification. I also found it odd that they presented me with the wrong dob because it was correct in their records which made me wonder if it was an intentional part of the verification process.

Thank you. Yes, all info was correct and I did make sure that my address and such matched 100%.

I contacted Apple again. They said it’s definitely on their end, but no resolution at this time and no ETA available. They did open a ticket for me and suggested I try again in 48 hours.

There ain’t no fix, some reps said wait 30 days some reps said wait 2 days

Haha what a mess this whole thing is. I've never had such a hard time applying for a credit card .

Sounds like they need to send out a memo to the support people so that everyone is on the same page about what the policy is.

I'm having the same issues as everyone here. Same ID problems, same conversations with Apple and GS, same emails about too many applications and unverified identity.

Will these multiple applications and denials impact my credit score?

Not until they render a “actual” decision will it pull your credit info

I was having problems with my NYS enhanced ID this morning. I tried a few times, got the error each time, and then closed out of the app, disconnected from wifi, and tried again and it worked. Not sure if I got lucky or if disconnecting from wifi fixed the problem.

Too many recent applications is now “
  • You have applied a number of times so we cannot verify the information you have provided at this time”

Ugh! Same here. Has anyone made it past this yet?

I had to do the ID thing twice. Some state have watermarking that photographs poorly. Get as close as you can to your license before the pic is snapped.

Get closer to the license. And use adequate lighting

Okay so you have to scan the signature page at the top first and then the picture page second, but you can do it the opposite way if it doesn’t work for you. Also make sure it’s on a dark background with no glare and a black T-shirt will work

GS be like, system doing all the work
[doublepost=1566316364][/doublepost]We might just be straight up banned from Apple Card but who knows
If I’m out of the states now, can I use an international phone number? They said they can not verify my identity after scanning my US passport..

Yeah – I just messaged to them too and got the give it 30 days thing. Probably because that’s how long they need to fix the system. :-S.
Who did you message? When I messaged Apple, their response was “We do not make that decision that too many attempts have been made or verify you. I do wish we had more info, but we cannot see that info.“

I just did the thing where you look up any Apple store on Maps, and then scroll down to the iMessage Business Chat part, and then you just put in “Apple Card support”, and it connects you to an Apple Card specialist at GS. Granted I’ve gotten conflicting info from them each time I’ve messaged in, but hopefully this is just a blip in this initial roll out.
