Wanted to share my story so far. Applied for a card and received it almost immediately. I had used it for a tiny 10 dollar purchase a few days later and no issues. So I tried to use the card number portion of it. I received a number of calls following this saying that it was in regard to my "Application." This was while I was on the phone with their support. They said that my account was put into "Review" and being "Investigated" even after being successfully used prior. The "Supervisor" then was a complete bigot. Reported them to both Apple and Goldman and got nothing from them. They refuse to give me a case number of any kind to follow up on. Was repeatedly told to wait for them to call me and they will not give any information on an inbound call.

This is a really bad look regarding Apple. Regardless of Goldman being the larger offender, there is a responsibility of Apple to deal with their partners when they are doing this kind of thing.

Unlike most, some of us were required to scan photo ID during the application process. Unfortunately, mine has been in review ever since, which is 8/20, 9:30AM EST.

Support is useless. They can’t expedite or override anything. They can't even tell me why the delay. All they tell me is that I'll get the result within 30 days. What?? Even Walmart is more organized and efficient than that.

I was told that you can submit application up to 6 times and can scan photo ID unlimited times per submission. However, after 6 application submission attempts, you’re locked out for 30 days.

Also, according to CS, passport is not an acceptable form of photo ID. What?? Like, are you ******* kidding me??

Got approved today. Applied 8/20th with a NY city ID

My story... applied for the card since they were giving 6% back and wanted to get a laptop. Applied and next morning got approved with a good size limit. Couple days later I decided to make the laptop order, with AppleCare. Order went thru fine, but 2 days later in the build I get a text and email saying there was a problem with my payment. The AppleCare went thru but the laptop did not. Apple deferred me to GS. First agent said she needed to escalate and the next agent went offline for about 10 minutes to investigate. When he came back he asked me a series of question from credit reports to confirm my identity, which I successfully answered. Then he came back and said my account was now under review and it would take a couple days to get back to me. This would impact my laptop shipment so I told him to close the account immediately and used my Amex. Thought it was really strange to have them do this with an open, active account. If they had questions they should have done that from the start, not days later.

I applied today since I wanted to order the iPhone 11. 6% back is worth the credit ding. Now the limit and interest rates aren't as good as I expected (17% vs the 12+%, and only a $9000 limit) but I can live with it since I don't like paying interest anyway, and I'll pay off the phone right away if there is no 0% rate offered.

When I try to apply, the process never recognizes my driving license (GA). Weird.

Not that I need the card; merely wanted to try the process, and see what the big deal was. Alas...
