Apple Cinema Displays Would Rock if...

They had too types, Apple Pro Display and Apple Display...

18inch and 20inch versions, DVI and VGA, white and black version (same price), built in isight camera, built in speakers,

Apple Pro Display

20inch, 23inch, 30inch versions, DVI, VGA, HDCP, Composite, 4 firewire + 4 usb 2, card reader, built in isight camera, built in speakers, height adjustable (same price as current cinema displays) and available in just silver.

Anyone agree?

Might not be a bad idea–would help increase the Pro Display's functionality to be more comparable to the Dell displays. But I'd add Component inputs to the mix on the Pro Display, and remove the speakers and isight (or make them optional/detachable).

I've never been a big fan of internal card readers. Since new card formats come out far too often even still, those multi-format card readers become obsolete far too quickly. It's much easier to replace an external multi-format card reader than one built-in to the side of a display or inside a laptop, that's for sure. Besides, all those ugly slots cluttering up the look.

It would be very nice if Apple could come up with a truly affordable display to pair with the Mac mini. I guess at the rate that 20" panels are dropping in price, that could be the current 20" Cinema Display. Just drop that price to $400 already and be done with it.

If only the 23" panels would drop as sharply and as quickly. Still in the $1K range for most models not made by Dell.

Yeah, amen to that! It would be perfect for my external hard drives, I think eddx had a sort of cool idea with the two lines of monitors. But, I don't see it happening soon?

But I do agree that the speakers in the iMac are VERY good to what you get elsewhere. These speakers you can actually use

I think there should be new panels in the ACD's (Faster respons time, contrast ratio etc)

Price drop, other than that they seem fine to me, well Apple does need to do what only Apple does when they update them though....something we can't come up with
