FYI, if you are looking to pick up your iPhone up at a UPS store, it must be a Customer Center (CC), NOT some generic UPS store. It must be the Customer Center where your phone will go before it's put on a truck for delivery. If you specific some generic UPS Store, not a Customer Center, you will incur an additional delay as it will come to the CC, be put on a truck, delivered to the UPS Store. You will not get it on the day of launch.

I heard you get 14 extra days once you initiate the return.. but i cant find the exact answer anywhere

Yeah, I think you're right. I remember I waited like a week or so before I sent an item back to Apple via FEDEX after initiated the return online.

I have a question about holding at the UPS CC (Sorry if this has been covered before - I just did a quick scan but there's like 316 pages to go through, lol!)

In past years, I've been able to hold for collection at the local UPS center and collect first thing.

This time, I don't see an option to do that.

I do have a MyChoice account and have done this before.

All I get when I hit 'delivery options' is a message pop up saying: "You can change your delivery after a delivery attempt has been made. Please track again using the InfoNotice number, which can be found above the barcode on the notice you received."

My iPhone 12 Pro is due to be delivered tomorrow and currently says it is 'in transit'. The last activity was the import scan in Louisville, KY.

The difference here is that this is the first time instead of buying the phone outright, I've purchased it on the IUP. And instead of opting to set it up myself (even though the order and credit check are in MY name), I went for the option to have it setup in my husband's T-Mobile account (he's the main account holder on our lines.) This meant I couldn't collect from the local Apple store because he would have had to go.

But this order is in my name, it's being delivered addressed to me with my phone number for the reference, so I can't imagine it's that.

Any ideas?

Thanks y'all.
Call UPS.

If you have your iPhone held at a CC and the iPhone is currently out of the US, you will see an exception on your tracking. This is normal, because at this point there is no guarantee that it will be held. Once your phone gets into the US, it should clear if my memory serves me correctly.

Yeah, my exceptions went away after import scan in KY.

Mine still shows deliver by 9 but when I look deeper into the tracking info, it says “pickup package at a UPS location”. That’s in the delivery change section.
Frustratingly my package does not appear under MyChoice, so I do not get a view into those things from what I can tell both on the website and or in the app. Am chatting in again just to confirm they see it set to be held still. I got a confirmation earlier but then another one...which seemed odd.

I put to pickup my iPhone tomorrow at my nearest CC a few hours ago. Its currently on its way from KY to DAL, TX. My app says "Exception" and the status on the website says "Pending" for the location of the CC. Anyone sees this?

Ooooh that's a good question. All I know is that a charge bodes well for you. Things are in the works!

My delivery window is 10/30-11/4 via Express Delivery with a window of 7-10 business days (how that is express is BEYOND me but whateve) so in all reality I should have had some sort of change in my order today if they hope to hit that 10th business day window. I ordered via Apple through Verizon loan program.

Fingers crossed for both of us. Lemme know if you make it to "Preparing to ship" by tomorrow if you can!

I'm also in the 10/30 club (T-Mobile 12 Pro silver 128, iPhone upgrade program) but got charged and my order is now in preparing to ship.... Fingers crossed! Ordered my husband and son's phone directly through T-mobile, they'll both be here tomorrow..

Hi two of the three orders have departed KY scans - but my wife's phone is still stuck in departure Alaska 12:24am.
Will they arrive on time?
Thank you...

This is normal. Message will clear at the next scan in.

Yes, if my 11 pro max still stuck in China at this time last year and still came on time... I'm sure you're fine :)

I got the same thing when I selected to hold at CC. My guess is this exception goes away once it reaches its destination and they confirm this pickup request.

But my iPhone is in the US, on its way to Texas. Would this cause any issues with delay?

Okay I was thinking that too. Once the iPhone gets to the CC, they will scan the package and see that we want to get it picked up.
