I did the same thing - cancelled the online order and bought the 12 Pro blue for pickup at the Apple Store on Sunday.
I am so pissed at Apple for not filling the pre-orders that devout committed Apple fans made last week - only to find out that my local Apple store has them in stock!

Next year, I won't get up early at 5am and to be charged - only to be told Nov 3-6.

So here is my "early" 12 Pro being picked up at the local Apple store:

Yeah, both of them are ready to be picked up. UPS CC opens up at 10:00
AM. 2 more hours to go.

Initiating transfer between old and new phone and im on the "confirm your phone number" screen of the activating process and it won't go any further. Has a next button but doesn't do anything when I press it.

I wonder if the activation server is completely slammed, or if it's trying to transfer data in the background and stuck. Tried rebooting once already. Both phones on same iOS.
 
While I’m happy that mine finally shipped it won’t arrive until next Friday. I wish I could order online again and pick up Sunday or even go to my local Apple store to see if I can get one today.

What carrier? I got through setup just fine but I haven't put my SIM in yet.

It’s probably slammed. Happens every year.

I would call... I would cancel mine if I had the option (but I'm already at preparing to ship) and if my phone number wasn't already reserved. I actually want to be on the loan payment plan in case Apple puts out an amazing 13! (Even though I typically like to pay off my phones). SIGH. I was tempted to pay in full for one and pick up at my local store tomorrow but alas I just need to be patient. I'm only tempted to do this because I'm not going to be home during my shipping delivery window. I'm gutted right now. I can wait for the phone, no problem... it's the uncertainty of the delivery window that has me panicked!

I just need to be patient and put it out of mind (somehow! anyone have valium?). I spoke with a very nice Apple rep just now (shout out to Tee!) and she was cool and put me at ease. If it ships out by this weekend I should be fine.

I told her to send me her therapy bill! I'm owed a good delivery experience after 2017's disastrous turmoil of waiting for my phone for 13+ hours at my office and then having to go pick it up at the hub TWICE (it wasn't ready the first time). Since I selected express she thinks if it ships out by Monday it should arrive by the 29th.

I sincerely hope all of you are having a great delivery experience and are enjoying your shiny new 12's!

question. verizon here. new phone purchased from apple (unlcoked no carrier device). how do i activate it when i get it?
