Don't get me wrong, I love Mountain Lion and I love all the new features. I'm fully impressed and love the upgrade(running the beta). But going through this feature list, you can tell they were grasping at straws to get to the 200 feature number. Keyboard shortcut for save as? Really? That's a new feature? lol.

I'm mostly excited for Airplay mirroring from my Mac. Now, I read that Apple came out with newer AppleTV's since March. Will the older ones be able to play 1080p as well? I bought mine last year I think.

There are restriction listed at Apples site. Only 2011 years Macs and newer will be able to use AirPlay mirroring.

Where do you see that? I can't find it.

Happy to see? It was in there from 10.2. cmd+shift+S.

Save As was removed in 10.7 for autosave apps.

No, the older AppleTV is limited to 720p.

Why the restriction on newer Macs for Airplay Mirroring? Surely you just need a machine fast enough to do the encoding (surely most Mac Pros come into that category, regardless of age?) and a good local network connection.

I'm glad to see multiple-monitor awareness for Full Screen, but can anyone clarify what that means? Does it still blank out the other monitor, or can we finally full-screen more than one app across multiple monitors?

Regarding the feature-list; the usual Unix section that lists some of the more advanced features seems to have been omitted this time around, is there any new developer documentation listing the non-user facing changes such as OpenGL changes, UI rendering etc.? I was hoping to find out more about what the changes actually are exactly. Some of the stuff has kind of been lumped under System, but I'm pretty sure there are others not listed.

Sorry for the noob question, but i didn't understand something...
With this airplay, is it possible to play my iPhone/iPad games on my MacBook Pro? Like, airplay from my device to my mac

No, that is not possible - Mac’s are not airplay receivers, only sending.

What I find amusing in a sad way is "Calendar sidebar - Click the Calendars button to keep a list of all your calendars accessible in a sidebar." This feature was in iCal prior to Lion.

It feels like some of the features on the list are reintroductions of features that were stupidly removed in Lion. So maybe these feature do count as new from Lion -> Mountain Lion, but not if you're coming from Snow Leopard.

Simplicated

So now it's a new feature! Yay! Just like deleting photos from iCloud Photo Stream! :D

Hasn't this been available since Lion?

Wow. I love how Apple classifies features that were removed from Lion or already exist as new features.

They want probably the same video quality on all devices.
My point was that some machines that aren't listed should definitely be capable of handling it though; I have an 8-core "early 2008" Mac Pro, should be more than enough processing power to handle it.

It's not the processor though perse - it's a chip-set feature that Apple utilizes.

Is anyone else as happy as I am that they finally linked phone numbers with your Apple ID on the Mac side?? This was the only reason I haven't used Messages on my computer... glad to see that Apple actually listens or takes note themselves or both.
