I'm still waiting for that one person who always goes 'If Microsoft want their game streaming service on mobile they should spend untold billions developing their own' :D

Seriously though we can all of us agree that there is no ligical reason for Apple to not allow Game Pass as a native app.

It's pretty obvious that Apple's restrictions on cloud gaming services was aimed at keeping competitors to Apple Arcade off of the App Store. There's no other reason to block what is essentially a interactive streaming video service.
The thing is that Apple does allow cloud gaming on the App Store, however each game must have a separate listing on the App Store.

Making more money by stifling competition is a very logical reason for Apple.

Sure, it may be anti-consumer, anti-developer, anti-competition and (if you will) somewhat evil. But since it’s Apple, nothing else is to be expected when it comes to making money on iOS.

Wait. What? Apple dominates the mobile browser market? Tell that to the myriad of Android fanboys here on MacRumors. Aren’t we constantly told that no one uses Safari because no one uses an iPhone in Europe, let alone iMessage.

Please, someone straighten me out here.
We’re talking about the UK here. The rest of Europe is a different story.

They are probably like „we have to make those changes for the EU by march 2024 anyway, we might as well wait out the verdict and just implement the same for the UK (if required)“
That makes a lot of sense. No need to add more legal expenses if you don’t have to.

The end result of this is what Safari will use WebKit, and everyone else will be reskinned chromium browsers like they mostly are on desktops now. Data brokers will have a field day, and websites will get back to those popups trying to tell you they require chrome to properly view, when it is actually a means for them to be able to more easily monetize you you death.

As for cloud gaming that will probably be a thing, and then people will complain about their batteries dying after an hour.
