iPad Pro Apple do iPad 10-year anniversary or update in Fall?

So I’m just curious what has been strongly rumored regarding next iPad Pro release, and what everyone else thinks is the higher probability: update this Fall or update next Spring?
Has Kuo or a very reliable source said this fall for sure or next spring?

I admit, some of the specs and possibilities of the next Pros might make me upgrade just after doing the 2018 version. I think the deciding factor will be RAM, pixel increase or just overall display additions, and improved structure, even though my iPad has so far (8 1/2 months) not had any bend issues, *knock on wood though. lol

Kuo says it’s entering mass production in Q4 2019 or Q1 2020– that gives you a solid window. Wasn’t until the Macotakara rumor which claimed an October launch that there was really anything more specific to go on... they could still be wrong about timing.

So it’s only a guess that I think they could be getting more aggressive with iPad Pro timelines to stimulate adoption— or at the very least that they’d like a new iteration they could leverage iPadOS to promote. Especially as they look to grow revenue outside of the iPhone and have seen growth in the iPad segment of their business in recent months.

Think about it. When it was just iOS, they didn’t need an iPad release to coincide with it. There is a range of opinions on how significant the official branching off of iPadOS is as a separate OS— but even if it is mostly a messaging / marketing tactic, it still has to stand apart now. So if you’re Apple, you are likely to do one of two things:

A) do little more than mention that iPadOS is launching and say nothing more at a fall event; these events are centered around product launches, so they’re not likely to spend much time talking about a software update that doesn’t have new hardware. WWDC is where they primarily talk software with hardware announcements being secondary / not required.

B) launch a product or 2 that really showcases iPadOS (yes, they could just update another iPad in the lineup. But being that the Pro is the most advanced / feature rich / their flagship iPad, and would be a year since updates at the time, it’s a reasonably logical choice).

Either could happen, but it would be a wasted opportunity, in my opinion, to not refresh the iPad Pro.

Other possibility: iPadOS could be delayed until said hardware was ready, or vice versa— hardware delayed till iPadOS is solid enough to release. Some beta testers seem concerned that these betas aren’t more solid at this point in development.

That makes a lot of sense, I don't really trust MacoTakara with releases, Kuo and that one Twitter person seem to be more in the 85-95% accuracy levels. Also the betas since iPad OS 2 have sucked really bad, I honestly could see them doing a very light version for the fall but then a more advanced version in the Spring along with new iPads. I personally don't mind either, I think I just get stressed cause I hate buying the new iPads and having to return the first couple due to manufacturing issues. Plus, I really only want more RAM, (is it needed or necessary to do "Pro" things... no, not at all) but I would like it cause I like more RAM. lol... Well, that and I could snag an iPad with 6-8GB RAM, A13X-A14X processor and then I'd probably not follow any Apple news for a couple years and just stick with the iPad I got. Part of me is tempted to get the 6GB, 1TB model and go with that, (only issue is that I would want it for Procreate and art programs but I was recently told by a Procreate representative that they don't use the extra RAM and that it's for managing 1TB storage) *confused about that as only 1 GB maybe is needed to do that so we'd still have an extra GB or 1.5GB to use, hmmm...
Anyhoo, RAM is still nice, and a beefier GPU that would probably run a 6K monitor at 30 (maybe 60fps) would be cool, but mostly RAM and the newest USB-C/Thunderbolt hardware would be my biggest reason to get a 2019 or 2020 version. Plus a 3 lens camera would help me a bit with AR stuff to work on. lol

7 nm+ process most likely. So more advanced than the original 7 nm.

Definitely not Thunderbolt 3.

Some people are claiming triple lens camera.

8-bit IPS. No chance of true 10-bit display (and no chance of OLED either). Displays are already P3 wide colour gamut though, and I believe they will stick with that.

I think there is a very strong likelihood of 6 GB across the board.

Maybe 8GB of RAM for the 1TB configuration?

I’m not expecting 8 GB in any of the SKUs, but I’m not completely ruling that out either.

No resprings? Wow. That's great. I've had several on every public PadOS bata I've installed on my 2018 12.9. I've had less on the current beta and way less bugs. It's great that you not had any.
