Why would HP use Palm's OS instead of Android? Seriously, what possible reason?

Nothing against the Palm OS, it's fine, but Android is more robust and open, and has two orders of magnitude more apps already.

As for the rest of the thread ... okay, so Apple is about to be destroyed by competitors AND Apple is about to be destroyed by the government for being a monopoly. OK. Let me take a guess. You don't like Apple.

As far as the actual topic of the thread ... WePad is way too imitative of iPad. Changing it is good for all concerned. WeTab is a better name anyway.

The WeTab seems like an interesting product, although I'd be concerned about the size and battery life. I'm not sure why they used linux instead of Android.

You need to look at the technical specifications of the OS's to determine which one is actually better, not just market saturation as where Palm failed was in its marketing plan and not its product itself. With the number one PC manufacturer in the world now behind it, this will be a different story.

I never said that I didn't like Apple as I have first hand knowledge that their products are made to a higher quality than most.

I keep on thinking about their 1984 Superbowl Ad with IBM's information purification directives. Based on their current actions and corporate culture they have become the IBM of this decade.
