I too think Front Row will be bundled in with iLife 06. It totally fits with all that. They need to push sales of iLife 06 anyways and what better way than adding a new app.

Also, it makes sense why they changed iTunes to version 6 after only a month of version 5. iTunes 6 with iLife 06.

I wonder if you can use the new iPod Dock as a IR receiver for any Mac to use it with Front Row. I got an iPod and need a dock, if that was true then it would be cool.
I thought it was pretty obvious that the IR signal is sent straight to the docked iPod. A Mac doesn't even need to be present for the dock remote to operate!

there is no mention about Infra red on imac tech details, but on remote control details says compatible with apple products that has IR built in :confused:

I hope apple release some information on this :(
Did you try looking at the Apple Remote page @ apple.com/store?

Apple Remote with iPod
If you connect your iPod to a home stereo, powered speakers or TV set, the Apple Remote lets you experience your songs, slideshows and more from across the room. Just plug your iPod into the Universal Dock and choose a playlist, slideshow or video. Then, sit back, relax and enjoy. Ready to move on to the next song? No need to get up from your sofa--just press the forward button on the Apple Remote. Phone ringing? Just click pause, then pick up where you left off.

The Apple Remote offers play/pause, volume control and forward/back buttons.

The Apple Remote requires the iPod Universal Dock and any iPod with a Dock connector.

Apple Remote with Mac
Included with the new iMac G5, the Apple Remote gives you total command of your music, photos, videos and DVDs from anywhere in the room. It combines with Front Row -- a menu-driven, full-screen interface -- to make accessing your iMac's digital bounty from any seat in the room as simple as navigating your iPod. When you click the Apple Remote's Menu button, your desktop fades and Front Row's sleek interface takes its place to give you control over your music in iTunes, your photos in iPhoto, the videos in your Movies folder and whatever DVDs you want to play. Turn up the volume. Shuffle. Skip to the next chapter on your DVD. Play a slideshow, a home movie you made in iMovie, even a movie trailer. Just sit back and enjoy the show.

What's in the Box:
* Apple Remote
* Battery (CR 2032)
* User Guide

Compatible with Apple products introduced in 2005 or later that have a built-in Infrared (IR) receiver.

The original iMac had an IR receiver (never finding much use)...I find this an interesting nostalgic point to the new iMac...I'd like to see Front Row released just so I can use it with the ol' Bondi. :D

My Rev. C iMac has the IR reciever harware too, but the case is designed so that it covers up the reciever. Still, maybe it could be made to work. Good for a laugh.

So how to do expect to control the thing. Eh eh eh??? :confused:
I'm sure someone will figure out how to trigger it. Then they or someone else will write an app or AppleScript for it, and all the Salling Clicker users (like me) can use it :D

Or we could just use Salling Clicker now... :eek:
