My computer broke three times and this time they fixed it badly and I showed them and they brought me a new one, just goes to say Apple has amazing service!!!

apples service is indeed very good, they are quick and usually act without fuss.

Also, if you don't mind me asking, what computer was replaced? if it was a macbook pro this may be of particular interest to many people here

Hmm I would consider that not very nice but the only right thing to do. If it breaks three times(same error) you are indeed entitled to a new product. If I wouldve had my computer break down in the same manner three times I would demand either a new one or a refund. Simple as that

What happened to IG?

Oh look around for the several bitchfest threads I started on my awesome PM G5 that locks up, won't sleep, son't wake from sleep....but it isn't Apple's fault. It's some pirate software companiy's fault...

Glad you got your situation resolved, though. Good job. :)

Did you try talking to a manager in the store?

For real. This has always worked for me. Remember the ipod nano scratch fiasco? Got them to refund my nano. Then I bought a 60gb video white from macconnection. It scratched. Took it into the same apple store and got them to refund it for a black one. Didn't even buy it there.

I havn't had any real problems with apple hardware that throwing it on ebay didn't resolve. :)

You are lucky, my old Ti powerbook had to go in service to apple 5 times in 8 months and then the last time it took them 2 months to fix my laptop...I only got a free set of Altec Lansing FX6021 which was nice but I would have rater had a new laptop for all the times I had to send it away.

It feels like I got a new laptop - I sent my TiBook in for a cracked hinge and they've replaced the entire casing. :D

It's pretty awesome that they're willing to completely replace problem computers. It's too bad that they don't seem to do it in every instance, though.

This has happened to me twice:

1. I bought a refurb 17" PB 1GHz 60GB SuperDrive PB that had logic board problems. Apple could not get the part in to fix it for 4 weeks so they sent me: brand new 17" PB 1.33GHz 80GB SuperDrive PB

2. I bought RevA 17" 1.8GHz 250GB iMac G5 SuperDrive that had a hard drive that died, logic board that died, and the disk drive went out 2X. Apple replaced it with: 17" 1.9GHz 250GB iMac G5 SuperDrive with iSight

Happy with both replacements (though I no longer have the 17" PB).

Sometimes I wish my iMac G5 would meltdown or something, so I could maybe get it replaced with a new Intel :( I know I should be content, but I REALLY want to play Oblivion.
