• iPod docking station built into the keyboard
Not going to happen. Apple already sells universal dock with nice profit ;)

• An additional USB port at the front or side for regular use of a memory stick (I'm scratching my desk by continually swiveling my iMac around to access the ports at the back)

There are 2 USB ports in wired keyboard. It would look horrible if memory stick comes out from side

• Matt screens (without the added price)

I'd like to see them too

Something that I would like to see are:

Core i7 Processors
4GB RAM Standard is fine.
640GB HD is also fine.
SD Card Slot
Better iSight (To be one of the 2 compelling features)

I mean, if they just update a bit of design with better processors and with an SD Card slot, I'm sure I would buy it.

Some people think it'll come out in 2010, and some people think it'll come out later this year. Hopefully.

Just like the eMac.

Built-in SD card slots are a stupid idea, IMO, unless you can upgrade it. I've got one on my Studio 540 and XPS 410. The card reader on those doesn't get much usage because it's just easier to use the USB cable.

Well I use SD cards often and I would just rather plug it directly into the computer just like the macbooks. Just a convenience for me.

I guess it depends on your camera then. My Canon A720 IS needs you to move a strip down, slide it to the right, and push on the SD card.

Oh I see. My camera, is a Sanyo Xacti HD2000, which is really inconvenient because you have to plug it into a dock, which you need to plug the dock into the USB and the power adapter.

I just hope it'll come out sometime in November. Its likely.

I agree. There are USB SD card readers available if you really need one. Only photographers really needs it so why to make it a standard?

You need to search the forums–and if your problem isn't solved–make your own thread.

Reinstall the OS. Archive and Install if possible.

I'm boring I guess since the only thing I need is a better GPU. I cannot wait for 2010 though since my 2008 iMac just burned out its back lighting for half the screen. £1000 to fix and then the resell value would be what £700? :)

Oh so what I want is cheaper spare parts! :)

Well I'd like Apple to go back to PowerPC so what would I really like?

3.0ghz Quad Core G5's (I could settle for a Core i7 setup but this is just what I would like to see :p)
4gb of ram standard
20" and 24" displays with option of white or aluminum, matte or glossy
wireless keyboard and mouse bundled, I would like the wireless keyboard to have a number pad like the original Apple BlueTooth Keyboard
At minimum an ATI Radeon HD 4850 with 512mb
500gb 10,000rpm drives

and I want that to be the base model :D, and I don't want the price to go up

But, a simple processor upgrade and maybe dropping the 20" to 999 would be just as good ;).

It's not like I'm going to upgrade from my curent G5 anytime soon anyway.

I want the option of turning off that dopey tone that happens everytime my iMac starts.

Avrei una lista di feaures lunghissima ma voglio essere realista:

1) Better CPU (It would be nice to have the quad core. It think that they are not used)
2) Backlit Keyboard
3) New Mouse
4) LED Backlit display

New model iMacs are gonna be tailored for 64bit ... so i think the base model should be around 4Gb RAM ... with optional upgrades upto say ... 16Eb RAM

Its about time these computers came upto speed :mad:

:apple:

My Preferences

What I'd like to see in order of preference:
* Nehalem-based processor (does not need to be quad)
* LED monitor
* Complete iMac redesign with no issue in making it thicker
* Firewire port kept
* New mouse
* Backlit keyboard

What I don't need to list because I know they'll do:
* Bigger standard hard drive
* Larger standard RAM
* Better video card

What I don't care about if I can get what I want:
* Price

What I don't care about at all:
* Blu-ray drive
* Memory card reader

More of the quality.

What set's Apple apart from the others, since it's beginning, in quality. What Apple do they so well, really well.

Look at the iPhone. It didn't give you everything but what it gave you WORKED! I lost count of the number of PDA's I set-up, or rather attempted to set up for customers, while I was doing an IT support job with local government. They wouldn't sync, you would then have to go through the registry stripping out any trace of the thing, just to have another go. iPhone worked, each release they gave you more.

Do we need quad core, not yet I think. Let's get the most out of two first!

More quality Apple. The MacBook Pro 2.53 on my knee right now in Starbuck's certainly oozes quality..

Thank's :D

I disagree. I need a quad-core for video editing and handbrake (both of which do not need Grand Central since they already optimize the extra cores) that doesn't cost over $2000.

The problem is how thin the iMac is. With a little more space, a desktop chip would fit. I do not think this is ever going to happen though, so I am sitting here content with my 2007 iMac, w/ 2.8 Core 2 Extreme. It is still basically on par with the current models, minus the graphics card (but I don't play games anyway).

I don't plan to upgrade until the following:

(1) Quad-Core
(2) LED Screen
(3) SSD Drive
(4) Graphics card with 1gb of VRAM
(5) Firewire 3200
(6) USB 3.0
(7) Blu-Ray

Based on these "desires" I probably won't be upgrading till the end of 2010 / 2011...but you never know.
