Interestingly, our local NBC (prepares to be flogged) station uses Macbook Pros and Safari whenever they want to show a computer (usually just for stuff like, "to find out more, visit nbc.com," etc).

I noticed that too. How ironic that it was used to deliver a virus to the alien mothership!

Anyways, I see MBPs often in commercials and in print ads. Sometimes the Apple logo has been removed though.

"in 24, they use both Macs and PCs (Dell) at CTU"

Haven't seen the show, but heard that character choice of Mac/PC hinted if they were really good guys/bad guys.

Iron Chef America had a pair of Cinema Displays tonight, they covered up the Apple logo with a X.

Here is a terrific quote about Apple's presence in the movies from the great Roger Ebert (who better to comment on Macs in the movies?):

"Macs turn up in the movies all the time -- not so much because of product placement, but because so many movie people use them and like them. A historian of the future, counting all the on-screen computers between 1983 and today, would likely conclude that Macs represented 90 percent of the computer market.

Alas, this is not so. But since any reasonable person would choose a Mac over a PC, Apple's market share does provide us with an accurate reading of the percentage of reasonable people in our society."
