Wait so compared to a car AI has proved itself to be dangerous? Cars cause 1.3 million people to die each year. About 100k people each year die from knife injuries. How many people have died due to AI so far? I must’ve missed the Terminator movie became a reality last night. Guess I’m not going to work this morning since Skynet is out there trying to get me.AI is truly a beast of its own I’d argue, compared to a car, a smartphone, or a knife. AI has proven themselves to be sinister and dangerous, well outside of Hollywood fear mongering and propaganda. Furthermore, AI can self-evolve. This makes them unpredictable, and I bet people don’t want to use an unpredictable technology.
I would not mind AI if they are stable, predictable and reliable. Unfortunately AI, unless under heavy scrutiny, would not meet that criteria. AI is indeed useful, but I fear the consequences should AI become widespread.
Nothing that involves electronics or technology could be considered stable, predictable, and reliable. The level of complication is just way too high for that.
