Apple Intelligence’Waiting List”

Mine was preparing for hours. Apparently I had to leave the AI page open while it downloaded stuff? Then it finally changed to a button I needed to click to enable it.

When I did mine earlier today took an hour and a half. Did my spouse later in the day and took 20 minutes.

Just how long do we have to wait?

With my M4 iPP, it took about an hour, tonight (from full install of 18.1), to get to the AI&S start-up screens.

And this is THE core feature of not only iOS18.1 but the new iPhone 16? And you have to join a waitlist and then toggle the thing on? After you download iOS 18.1?

Man that’s so unlike Apple.

It's still "Beta" (even after the 18.1 Update).

The waitlist is for Apple Intelligence not for iOS 18.1 you have to go into your settings and join the waitlist

My iPhone and both iPads were up and running in about an hour. Siri seems much improved but time will tell.

Settings then, Apple Intelligence & Siri. It’s right in there at the top.

Such an odd thing, this waitlist, from Apple.

To be fair, it is still a beta. So making it opt in makes sense. Otherwise, they’d pull everyone into a feature that isn’t up to standards.

Now why are they heavily marketing and have marketed the feature as key while it is in beta? Only Tim Apple can answer.

Bot a list to download. After downloading go to Setting, Apple Inteligence and then join the waiting list. Took me about 30 minutes before mine was activated.

Ahhh that makes more sense, but very odd implementation. Just joined the waitlist...
