Eh whatever. 6.1.3 will probably only fix passcose and jailbreak. 6.1.2 has been very stable and I doubt I'll upgrade til iOS 7 at this point.

From what i understand they have blocked one exploit.

Once 6.1.3 is out of beta and globally available the Evasi0n team will be on it.

At some point will they determine better things focus on?

I wonder what causes them to have such a bug up there butt over this. It truly Is beyond my scope of understanding. I wonder if the new CEO sits and worries or if it is only the lawyers?

I am sorry to them, and I love them still.

I'm on 6.1. Is it worth updating to 6.1.2? I really don't care about the Exchange problem, just wondering if updates to Cydia apps will start being incompatible with 6.1 after a few months... does that happen often or will they be compatible with any iOS 6.x?

Up to you.
Cydia packages wont start being incomatible with 6.1.
If they work now they will continue to work.

And here I was thinking Apple’s new strategy was to pump out a new iOS update every week, so jailbreakers would have to go through the hassle of restoring in iTunes all the time if they want to stay up-to-date…

It was going to happen sooner or later.
Would be nice if they never patched any JB exloits:D
I for one am glad they patched the "arbitrary code execution in PDF document" bug that enabled jailbreakme. That was a serious security flaw.

The jail breaking devs patched this one quicker than apple did

At least there are no major things in 6.1.3 that will make me run to upgrade. Sure the lock screen bypass is fixed but I;ll just be extra careful not to lose my phone.

Sounds like PlanetBeing believes Apple will attempt to patch multiple exploits they used in the jailbreak with 6.1.3. I hope I'm wrong, but I wouldn't hold my breath for another jailbreak until an innovative dev team successfully exploits iOS 7.

The number 13 just became unlucky for me again -- uugh.

----------

I suspect iPhones running 6.1.2 will quickly become very valuable on eBay.

I'm content sticking with the latest Jailbreakable version until iOS 7 comes out. However, it's too bad that we couldn't get the passcode bug fixed first. Is there any way the passcode bug can be patched through Cydia without upgrading to Apple's latest version of iOS?

I think its highly possible that some innovative dev will come out with a similar patch for the passcode bug on Cydia.

I wish Apple had patched the passcode bug BEFORE evasi0n. In my opinion, that is a big reason to upgrade - I don't like knowing my phone has a security flaw.

I speculate that Apple waited to patch the passcode bug along with evasi0n, to provide some incentive for people not to jailbreak.

Hopefully our blobs will be useful soon.

That's what Im hoping too.
As long as our blobs work and I can restore to 6.1 again whenever I want Im more than happy staying where Im at.

That's not really an incentive at all for me not to JB:D
