no come on, HTC windows mobile wasn't even working well the day it was build.
and i still use my iPhone 4, which still works fine
we have an awful lot of apple devices in our Family and not 1 failed as of today, not even a button that stopped working.
I thought I did pretty good. Sense 2.1 w/Weather, all done with CAB files - no ROMs.
I have a 4s and an iPad Air 2 along with my 5. Mostly Macs in our house though, but only 1 Intel Mac.

HTC is a manufacturer of smartphones.
In late 2008 the Touch Pro was one of their flagships. I bought one in 2009.
Windows Mobile 6.1 Professional was the operating system it used.
I get that they have reached a peak. But everything on the X is unoriginal. All Apple is doing is playing catch up. Big screen, oled display, edge to edge, face recognition...what Apple is promoting as the X's key features other smartphones already have, yet Apple makes it seem like these features are new and ingenius. Give me a break. Seriously this year's iphone was meant to be a breakthrough and all we got are the same old same old incremental improvements. I'm not asking for much, but something to make me go wow I want that phone would have been nice. As it stands, there's nothing about the X to make me go wow I want that phone. Nothing whatsoever. The Note 8 on the otherhand....
That is what Apple has done since the original iPhone though, they take things that other devices have and make them work better together. There were few if any original features on the first gen iPhone or any since then.
I'm sure once you see it in person, you'll be on here telling us the many things you like about it. 
Good luck with your Android experience. It will certainly not be worse than iOS. Plus the cost is a little better at something like $930US.

When you say "The Note 8 on the other hand...." what exactly do you mean? What draws you into that phone more so than the X? Genuinely curious.
Yes! One less person i have to worry about trying to buy the iPhone X!
It's where all the Apple haters go once a year. Six months they back when Samsung phone hangs up, freezes, slows down.
Past ten years now, Apple doomed, end of Apple, done with Apple, see you next year same time, same message. Course only difference Apple probably be Trillion dollar company by then.
Pretty dramatic about a phone. A PHONE. I read an article today that talked about why we feel so uptight, frustrated and impatient about something we want, and then once it is released we feel relieved not because of the new phone or whatever, but because the anxiety, and frustration we felt while waiting for the product was alleviated. Apparently in this case, the OP was frustrated, and the release of a new product has not alleviated his anxiety or anger. I don't blame you.

But you have to give em a round of applause for the enthusiasm the presenters exude on stage. It sounds so dramatic. Gets me riled up for a minute.

Yeah what a terrible product, it's only made of surgical grade steel and it only RECOGNIZES YOUR FACE and unlocks for you, you don't even have to touch it, it freaking LOOKS AT YOU and unlocks if you and only you are using it. What a piece of junk, the Palm Pilot had that feature back in 2001.
I'm loving this.
Don't forget they need to hold their phone up and look at it to unlock and then swipe a finger across the screen, if it doesn't unlock Call Tim Cook......he promised it just works.Hey, let's wait a bit and have a first-hand experience with the new phone before bushing it. i'd rather have less new features then many poorly performing ones. Like fingerprint scanner on my 5s worked 2 times out of 3 - so I completely stopped using it till getting replacement phone with properly working sensor. Well working sensor changed the way I work with the phone. Same with Siri. If it can get accuracy of Alexa and be a bit smarter I would actually use it - it would be a new awesome thing for me. Remember Chinese phones with build in TV and toasters - I don't think I want iPhone to remind me of them.
