Hey -Fugly plastic

Some of us are still using those fugly G4's thankyou. hey just because the cheese grater is metal, no need to be bitchy.

Why does the MacbookPro need a new case? It is nicer than anything else on the market, whe you look at it compared to a Dell, Lenovo or ThinkPad, you appreciate it for what it is, J. Ive at his best.

Now the new iMac is fugly, J. Ive, must have been off that day, cause that sure as hell aint his doin!

I'm not sure what your point is with that comparison. To me, it illustrates the superiority of the iMac industrial design. Which one would you rather look at?

I like the new look. I think the white iMac design looks pretty dated now.

like someone else said, it's all about perspective. If you use a product for a long time, it seems to be outdated. The MBP design blows away any other laptop design.

The white iMac design blows away any other desktop design, and the new one does the same. When you compare to other brands, there's no comparison and it makes Apple look that much better. But, when you just single it out, the designs begin to seem old after a while.

Just my thoughts...

I just meant that the black back of the new iMac reminds me of "every other" computer with a black finish.

I personally think the macbook pros are in bad need of a complete redesign. Apple has been pushing that same aluminum design for about 6 years now which is ancient in computer time. I think its a token to Apple that they still look classy compared to other notebooks but I think that mainly due to how bad Dells and HPs look than Apple's design prowess.
They based the new iMac off the iPhone because they're pushing the new iMac as a high end consumer product. You can tell by how Jobs compared it to their professional line of products (Mac Pro, Macbook Pro) in the presentation. The iPhone is also a high end consumer product, not a "professional" users product because its geared toward video, music, and web surfing, unlike business phones which have superior email, third party apps, and removable batteries.

Aluminium has been around in Macs since 2003 not 2001.
