I have. They're .MOV files, and even the latest version of Real Player says it cannot play them with the installed version of QT. Only one file in the collection is encoded in REAL format, and it plays fine in Real Player.

.Mov files should play in quicktime easily, maybe those files are corrupt.

I got the iBook Introduction link to work, see how they work is the .mov files are reference files. The computer reads that (and if it's still active) the file directs the computer to the best video file based on the internet connection speed.

So using the iBook link (which linked to an iBook ref.mov file, download that file by holding down Option, open the file in TextEdit to see the list of move file names it links to)

It's a little difficult to find out but, I was able to find the real links to the video files. Now keep in mind some of these links probably no longer work. And the whole link from the text file may not even work, it may just be the end, which is the video file name. :D

iBook Introduction QuickTime video direct links:

http://stream.qtv.apple.com/events/may/ibook/ibook_300.mov (150 MB)
http://stream.qtv.apple.com/events/may/ibook/ibook_100.mov (50 MB)
http://stream.qtv.apple.com/events/may/ibook/ibook_56.mov (27 MB)

So let's try the rest, see if we can maybe get a good list going. :p

When you do this, can you please update the guide if you know how to do wiki markup? (It's easy to learn...in fact, just looking at what other people have done gives you a very good idea of how it works.) If you don't feel comfortable doing it, just post the links here and someone will get around to doing it eventually.

I don't have time to check through the individual links now, but I did update the iBook special event with direct links. Thanks, LimeiBook86!

This is easily one of my favorite threads. Unfortunately, a lot of those links are no longer active, as Apple has removed the content from their servers. It's a shame, really, especially since Applekeynotes.com was shut down.

In any case, I've got a question to the community at large: I've got the "Complete Apple Keynote Collection" (which I downloaded from a site I won't name here), but whoever encoded some of the files used some very strange codec. WWDC 2003, for instance, won't play in QT (with Perian and Flip4Mac), VLC, MPlayer, or any other media player. I've got every codec I can possibly imagine being used installed, and yet some files still just won't play. Does anyone else have this collection, and have you had/solved the same issue?

I have all the videos from AppleKeynotes.com, and did hold the domain until a few weeks ago. Sadly as the domain name was one of the issues Apple raised with us, I was emailed and it was suggested to me that I should not renew the domain. One of the people who helped put together AppleKeynotes.com made that complete apple keynote collection.. So I would be surprised if any of the files are dodgy. My version of WWDC 2003 is a 480MB avi, for what its worth.

Ah AppleKeynotes.com. That was such a great site to be apart of. I still remember writing all the descriptions every time someone uploaded a new one. Good times.

Anyone have the keynote from yesterday yet? (Sept 5th)

My WWDC 2003 Keynote that wouldn't play is a 302.8MB .MOV. I'd really love to get a hold of a working copy of '03 as well as '05. I really miss Applekeynotes.com. ><

Thanks for that. I's searching for some older keynotes and all of a sudden I find his thread :)

The keynote archive has been updated! Go check it out! I won't upload any videos because I don't want to violate Apple's terms. I am simply redirecting you to their site's stored videos. :p

You know, I'd rather not upload my videos on to the internet... to avoid any kind of problems. :p So thanks guys!
