Well, some people are just never happy :p

When the US store started there were only 250,000 songs. You guys started with over 2 million. Give it a few weeks/months and more will be added.

I'll agree that is pretty bad. Looks like Apple caved to the labels to get the store online. Their US contracts are up for renewal in 2007 so I wonder if we'll be seeing this sort of thing on the US store soon. There are a few like that now but it may get worse. I have to buy a whole album I'll just buy it on CD or not at all.

Some people have voted "negative" on this story!

If I had any doubts that people click randomly when rating stories, they have now been erased.

Unless somebody can enlighten me as to why this is an unfortunate event.

It's probably those Australians. :D

In any case, I think it's great that more of the world gets real access.

Where will Apple go next? I'd think that Brazil would be a likely target, but I'm not sure about the rest of the South America. Singapore might be a good market and they could certainly use an official Apple store, even online.

At least they have Split Enz' first record. I'm betting I am the only person who has bought it.

I bought 'Got You' in february from the belgian store. It is no longer available right now, why should that be ? Is that the song you were mentioning ? If so, I still have the 45rpm single in my collection.

No. I meant their first album, which is a weird art rock sort of thing. "I Got You" comes from years later when they had adopted a more popular sound.

new prices

I've seen the Renaissance quote about pricing. Has anyone worked out how much of a difference it has made? I did some checks and a bottom of the line MacBook was still approx NZD300 cheaper in Japan.

how about the Singapore iTunes music store? given that we had the Online Store for the longest time and Apple even used to manufacture macs here....

What do people in Singapore mainly listen to though, do they have a lot of local content... Apple seems to be focusing on local content these days.

Apple India store please.

We have had a catalog Apple store for two years now. We deserve better!

Unlike the Chinese, Indians do buy CDs. But, to counter the ever-increasing piracy, we need iTs here!!! All we have is lame Windows-only WMA-DRM'ed crap! Even then, these stores do record decent sales.

How many people, out of the population in India, are connected to the internet, with broadband most likely to buy songs. Is there a bigger percentage than China ?

I think India and China would have stores with a lot of local content, but you have to wonder what the percentage of the population has computers, and out of them, how many have the internet speed required to download songs consistently.

With China and India on board, Hong Kong and Singapore and smaller locals that have HIGH populations could be considered, provided they have the local content. Otherwise it's just an extension of the US store really - though with probably a higher price point.

You mean apart from "none of them"??

Ah well, at least things are still moving and the iTS hasn't stagnated.

Welcome aboard to our cousins from the Shaky Isles. How come you guys get the Red iPods and we don't?

It's interesting that New Zealand has the charity set up to enable purchases of that iPod, go to the charity, but Australia hasn't.

Read above (in terms of iTS not Apple Online Store).
