To what end?
So it's your assertion Apple is doing this to upset the OP?
Then let me expand the question: So it's your assertion Apple is doing this to upset the affected customers? You might, and I stress might, have a point if the OP was the only person this has happened to...

sigh...sigh...
My assertion is that this does not need to be happening... and if you think Apple is doing this on purpose then you're not a very good thinker.
sigh...
Either Apple is doing it on purpose or they're not. I'm of the mindset they're not and these are anomalies. But there are others who feel it does not need to be happening but is...as if Apple is doing it on purpose (or else it wouldn't be happening).
Ooh, a conspiracy between Apple and UPS to deliberately troll and mess with a small-time customer!? One deviously and maliciously designed to feed a small-time customer's sense of entitlement and outrage? Is that what this is about? Yawn.
She didn’t even attempt to set it up. Most likely the computer was undamaged. There’s a reason why it’s packed really good inside a box. If people only knew how the items they buy in the store were handled during shipping. People have this idea where they think items are carefully carried from the manufacturing plant in China to the distribution warehouse, and then to the store. It’s nothing like that. Boxes get thrown, dropped, kicked and however mishandled. The large majority of them survive without any problems. There is 😄

I think the bigger problem is certain people will buy the Mac Pro that shouldn’t be buying it and expect something out of it that it’s not. If you’re saving up five years for a computer it’s probably out of your price range and not something you really need. This being said I’m not against people doing what they want with their own money. If they want to roll it into cigarettes and smoke it that's their choice. My point is that the Mac Pro it’s just like any other computer. It’s not a block of gold or something made in the heavens summoned down by the god Tim Cook. It's a tool designed for a specific purpose. It’s going to have all the same faults problems and issues and it’s made out of the same circuit boards as other computers. Yes there may be quality improvements but it’s still a computer. By all means if Apple will replace it sure but I’d be willing to bet that’s not the first time it was rolled across the floor. Although the delivery company will be smarter this time being aware of the camera the new one will likely receive the same treatment out of camera range. The door camera doesn’t see at the UPS facility or the distribution warehouse in China. Every package is treated like that and every item you buy at the store has been treated like that before it's unboxed. When you buy retail items on store shelves they come shipped in larger boxes that you don’t see. They get cut open and the individual items put on the shelf. I’ve worked in warehouses and stores and this is how heavy packages get treated. Before everyone had a camera on the door there was no video online to show this but now cameras are everywhere so we see it.Well, she showed the footage to Apple and Apple agreed to replace it immediately. In her case I would have done exactly the same. Why take chances? After all it is not a piece of candy, it is a USD 11,000,- package. Better safe than sorry.

What other options are there?Because clearly those are the only two options...
