Apple Mail: User/Library/Mail 75GB Folder!

Why is my User/Library/Mail folder 75GB?

6 imap email accounts (5 are gmail).
The Mail Downloads folder is only 150mb give or take.
I delete email all the time.

If it's the case where email is being locally stored, can I delete ONLY the local versions?

Sounds screwy for sure. What version of macOS...and who is hosting the email accounts?

Do you have any "On my Mac" folders?

macOS 10.13.3
5 of 6 accounts are Gmail
Not on the Mac in question.

I've seen similar problems fixed by starting over with Mail accounts...Internet Accounts to be more specific. Deleting the Internet Accounts in System Preferences, deleting everything in that ~/Library/Mail folder and then re-adding the accounts.

That's drastic and really a pain for 6 accounts. Everything has to re-sync! Hopefully, someone has an easier solution.
