The problem with any streaming service is having a live recording matched by non-live version, if that's the only one available. You can get by that, but no one wants to change meta data for millions of "incorrectly matched songs"

not to mention the time it would take to go through manually, since "smart playlists" don't exactly do what Apple says it does. which is a huge downside.

Apple Music may have its problems, but I dare to say that replacing live recordings with studio ones isn't one of them (anymore). I have a LOT of live recordings and none of them was replaced with the studio version. At some point, if I recall correctly, Apple changed the matching algorithm to a more accurate sound fingerprint one, so this shouldn't happen. It's a different thing with remastered versions or whatever, though, in which case both songs sound exactly the same, but are "only" mastered differently.

Changed cover art is still an issue for me. I also have an issue where I would upload live recordings, but the studio versions would play for some reason when I try to play them.

I'm still having a lot of issues with live tracks. I have numerous officially releases live albums (even albums live albums in the iTunes Store!) that get matched with album tracks. When I go to listen to a live album is so jarring to then get dumped to an album track.

That's an absolute no-go, of course. As a live versions and bootleg collector, I feel you! Really unacceptable that Apple Music doesn't identify the difference with its sound ID check. Even if the matching process takes longer, every mp3 should be checked exactly enough so that this doesn't happen.

It's crazy! I would think after a few years, they'd be able to fix some of these issues. I'm holding on to an old MacBook that has my perfectly curated live track library. Every time I upgrade my iPhone, I have to plug it into that MacBook to download the live tracks because Apple Music refuses to match things correctly.

One day when Apple stops supporting that MacBook for iTunes upgrades, I'll really be screwed. Not sure what I'll even do at that point.

i would say that almost 50% of the CD's I ripped, weather Legit or "rare" live concerts have the incorrect album art. Despite the fact i uploaded the art and added it to iTunes.
