Doesn't work for mo on 8.4 either. I get the "Downloading XXX songs" at the top, but once it's done and I go offline all but a few of the track go away. Before going offline I checked the space usage for the music app and it was around 15GB. After going offline it went down to ~100MB. Going through the playlist and individually selecting songs for offline seems to keep them that way.
It won't download when you pick "make songs available offline" when you pick it straight from the artists 3 dots. (Which it should.bug) but I find it actually downloads songs if you pick it from the albums 3 dots. It just doesn't put the little icon next to each song. Hopefully 8.4.1 will address these annoying things.

I agree but we shouldn't have to exit the app to get the info...... Apple should provide a button/link to list all the offline music.

If you go into My Music...

Can't download here either. Just keep getting a message saying "couldn't download, and i can press done or retry".

Songs on my mac vary from downloaded successfully, to couldn't download, Error 400. Very intermittent. Not a major issue, since I prefer to stream everything anyway, but I can't sync to my apple watch until its downloaded, and Ive had issues where random songs wouldn't play, but just skip to the next.

I'm so confused. According to my iPhone I have 379 songs on my iPhone, and when I connect it to the computer it says the iPhone has 79 songs. It even changed my iPhone's name. :/

Try this:

If you are unable to download/make available offline in Apple Music (on your iPhone):

1: Go into Settings/Wifi. On your network, touch the i.

2: On the next screen, touch the DNS part and change the number to 199.85.126.10

You should now be able to download/make available offline again in the Apple Music/Music app.

If you have a Mac and are having a similar issue in iTunes (i.e. when you click on the iCloud icon on a particular album/song you have in your library to choose to download it to your computer). You can do the following to sort it out.

On your Mac:

1: Go into System Preferences/Network.

2: Click the Network preference pane in the System Preferences window.
The Network preference pane will display all of the network connection types currently available to your Mac. Usually only one connection type is active, as indicated by the green dot next to its name. Select the connection type whose DNS settings you wish to change.

3: Click the 'Advanced' button. The Advanced Network sheet will display.

4: Click the 'DNS' tab. This will display two lists. One of the lists contains the DNS Servers and the other list contains Search Domains. We will not address Search Domains in this tip, so you can safely ignore them at this time.

5: Click the '+' (plus sign) in the bottom left corner. Enter the DNS server address, which is 199.85.126.10

6: Once you have finished making your edits, click the 'OK' button. This will close the Advanced Network sheet and return you to the main Network Preference pane.

7: Click the 'Apply' button to complete the DNS editing process.

The Mac settings I knew, but didn't know you could change them on iPhone. Thank you!

I read on another forum that the issue has been resolved. So I reverted my DNS back on to its default, and the issues are no longer there :)
