We shouldn't be encouraging college kids to be unethical.
That is how we wind up with the mess in Wall Street and elsewhere in business.

People will do anything to save a buck and it's sad.
So I think my point was students should pay the $10 or get on a family plan. Hell, set up a family plan amongst five other friends at school. Then it's cheaper than a student plan.
setting up a family plan is a very stupid and dangerous idea. To have a family plan, you use 1 credit card, everyone has access to each other's apps, music, movies, and locations too. Also with find my iPhone, it lists everyone's devices in the family too.

I can't believe some people are this cheap!

Just because you're a student you're entitled to a discount? That's not how real life works.

Also, no one is forcing you to use Apple Music as well, if Spotify is cheaper for you, go for it.

I had no idea we weren't living real life? Where's my option to opt out of this version and choose another.

Actually, if you look at it with a more long-term picture in mind, offering a student discount, which students are a huge part of Spotify and its upbringing, then you are building a relationship and customer base. Most college students have multiple jobs to pay multiple bills, sometimes the only forms of enjoyment are cheap beer and cheap music. So why not help the population that is getting an education and paying high tuition costs be allowed the discounts to keep us as customers and coming back into adulthood after college? Im saying this as I enjoy Spotify giving a discount as well as other places, they deserve my business now and in the future.

My only issue with Spotify is many of the playlists I have created have lost tracks I guess because of licensing issues. And you don't know it unless you look at the list for grayed out tracks. Its why I left Spotify (along with their lousy iOS app).

I had this problem when I switched from Spotify to Apple Music. Some songs that I had on Spotify weren't (and still aren't) available on Apple Music.

These people bashing about $10 a month screwing artists though.

Look, unless it's their favorite artists, people would rather download their music ilegally. These streaming apps are real nice and convenient that most people who aren't spoiled enough to spend $2.50 for a single tune would be willing to pay for their music.

I used to obtain songs ilegally and since I found Spotify, I never had. So which one screws artists more, 10 bucks a month or not at all?
