Spotify wins hands down.

For starters, Apple Music can never remember where you left off. Relaunch it, and bam it plays the first song on your library.

Spotify not just picks up wherever you left off, but it does so across devices.

For the same price, you also get access to a wider global library of music, without having to jump through hoops.

It’s no contest - Spotify.
Huh? Just to state, there's music on Apple not on Spotify and visa versa.

Apple Music is by far the superior one. Better interface, better sound quality, and feels more social being able to see if my friends are listening to the same song. The next iOS should improve AM as well

Errr SQ goes to Spotify. The bit rate is better with Spotify.

We all have our opinions, but for me Spotify does not have the fullness and soundstage Apple Music has. I have and continue to compare them.

It’s not opinionated that Spotify is better. Apple Music is more compressed. IDGAF and prefer the simplicity using Apple Music over Spotify

AM sounds slightly better to me...

For starters you don’t even know and realise that Apple only Plays 228 KBPS versus Spotify premium which plays 320 KBPS and that too higher format called the OGG Vorbis Format that should speak for itself. So you don’t even know what you are talking about here. It is just a fanboy statement That you are making which says Anything that Apple Touches is Gold.

Excuse my English.

That´s because AAC is a better, modern, more efficient lossy codec than Vorbis (and MP3). So, even using a comparably lower bitrate (256 vs 320) than Spotify , sound quality is better in Apple Music because encoding and discarding data from the original lossless file is done in a more efficient way.

Bitrate is not the most important thing.

Can anyone on iOS 14 tell me how Apple Music is TODAY compared to Spotify? I started using Spotify in spring and become a premium user since June. I have nothing to compare my experience with. I've only used Apple's music app as a music player to store my downloaded music, but never used the streaming service.

I’ve used Apple Music from the start but for the past 4 months or so have had Spotify with my Vodafone contract. I do not like Spotify as much as I liked Apple Music. Don’t get me wrong, it good but I just miss some of the features with Apple Music that aren’t there on Spotify.

I’ve also not used my HomePod since the switch as it’s too messy to get Spotify to play through it whereas with Apple Music it’s seamless.

I still prefer Spotify overall. Their Discover Weekly playlist is much more accurate a big drawcard for me.

The user above (augustya) who accused me of bias has absolutely no idea & pretty much slandered me without reason. They seem very ignorant & aren’t into discussing things reasonably.

Some new features like your personal radio station, better selection of music (IMO), much better interface on iPhone.

Where do you select it?

Ok first of all just a disclaimer I am not sure if this will work as I personally do not have a Homepod and Neither I can try it nor I have confirmed it with anyone. This is what I read somewhere See if it helps...

Just launch the Home app from your device, Select the HomePod in question and change the Music streaming option to the account of your choosing. Good luck.
