I lost all faith in Android Market when I saw this in the new releases earlier last year:

http://www.appstorehq.com/baby-daddy-android-295856/app

No application on the App Store is as wrong or ***** as that app.

Its wrong. It makes no sense and it is a huge example of one of the worst apps available on any platform.
$1.99 for that garbage!? LOL ... wow. *shakes head*

I wish we didn't even have an app store, it would stop all these stupid apps from being developed in the first place.

Don't click on it. I swear, some people just want to impose their will on others. What does it change in your life that these apps are being developed ? If you don't want to have an app store, don't use it and let others be.

No. There are people claiming some of the promoted features are missing, which is not true.
You mean people as in more than one person? Maybe it's time to review the description you typed out for your app. I tend to find most ratings rather accurate when it comes to apps.

And just out of curiosity... what is the app?

The state of the App Store was why I didn't buy my brother an iPod Touch. So, they lost my $200. There is no point in buying an iPhone/iPod Touch if you're not going to take advantage of the App Store IMO. There are phones that do the same stock features and cost less. It's like buying a Mac justo reason for iLife and iWork.

I LIKE the App Store, it is the BEST thing to happen to the iPhone, but there needs to be a better reviewing process so that CUSTOMERS don't get to the bad stuff first. They need to demo stuff themselves, not just focus on APIs.

And yes, there are fake reviews sadly. My friend has a social network and someone left a review like, "OMGz they so elite Bob the dev suckz he deleted my account for no reason!!!!!1111!!!1111 :mad::mad::mad:" The developer isn't even named Bob...

And yes, there are some developers selling our information. I know which ones too.

That's not what you said at all :

I wish we didn't even have an app store

Look, you are free to not like the app store the way it is, you are free to use or not use it. But to wish it didn't exist because you don't like it is wrong on many levels.

I think this thread should be deleted because there is clearly a surplus of 'fake' reviewers of Apple's App store.

By Fake I mean - moral majority social police. This is not a genuine approach to being truly Human..which, for me, means 'live and let live.'

if you don't like the App store - don't use it.
if you are smart enough to discern fake reviews and complain here, don't buy that App.
If you are smart enough to discern fake Apps and think other people aren't smart enough - that's a wretched form of judgment & no one asked you to white knight any way. That's just your ego flaming out of control.

I have had Zero issue finding the very few quality Apps I wanted. I have had no issues determining which Apps (through the innumerable independent review sources) will do the job(s) I want done by using google.com to find these sites which review these Apps I have purchased.

With or without the App store, I -still- would have purchased my iPod Touch as it is, give or take, a perfect product. Seamless integration with my MBP - perfect performance (never had a crash...battery life still awesome after 18+ months of operation, etc.) and it does everything I purchased it for. The App store is just icing on the cake.

ITT - Americans expect perfect everything.

Exactly. Some people who can't think logically seems to be spreading FUD. Perhaps they are shilling?

Apple does not want to do anything because they can claim that they have X number of apps. Never mind the fact that less than 1% of them are worth anything. Hell I bet you would be hard press to find 1-2k of even good apps in all of those that they have. Rest are just well crap.

Completely wrong. Apple purged thousands of spam apps last year.

"less than 1% of them are worth anything" that's just FUD and hater speculation.

precisely.

Here, for those who prefer to Hate & Speculate....**************************:

http://tinyurl.com/26hcxtt

If one does a little research, and some quick math...it's pretty easy to determine that significantly more than 1% of Apple's App Store Apps (for iPod Touch/iPhone) are worth "something." Certainly, to the top developers, they are worth more than 1 Billion Dollars. Do the haters REALLY believe that many people have been tricked? Lol!

When the FUD mongers in this thread have used google and come up with some Real statistics of relevance, come back...and let's hash out some facts.
