Obviously it depends on what you want and for you AppleCare works. I’d happily spend a few days using an old iPhone while mine is repaired and pay nothing, than pay £119 for AppleCare plus the £79 fee to replace a screen to be honest. I can get issues like that fast tracked through my insurer so it’s a quick turnaround anyway.
For those that are ok using an old iPhone, that's great. I'm not one of them personally, nor do I have an old iPhone laying around (I guess because I go the AC+ route).
A friend of mine lost his Apple Watch S03 in Cornwall last weekend and had his new one arrive yesterday so it can be very quick to resolve.
Insurance replacements are always a quicker turnaround though, as there's no repairs involved (obviously).
AppleCare is a viable option for those that want it too and at the end of the day it’s an insurance policy like any other.
Absolutely agree.
My 8+ is used for business so I can't be without it, so AC+ (for me) is a small price to pay, compared to losing money being without it, or having to spend time sourcing a temporary replacement phone, that doesn't hinder me in my day, and subsequently end up costing me time and money.
