Apple today added refurbished iPhone 14, iPhone 14 Plus, iPhone 14 Pro, and iPhone 14 Pro Max devices to its online store for refurbished products, offering the prior-generation iPhones at a discount for the first time since their 2022 launch.

The iPhone 14 is available starting at $619, the iPhone 14 Pro is available starting at $759, and the iPhone 14 Pro Max is available starting at $849. Apple does not have any available iPhone 14 Plus devices at the current time.

Apple first released the iPhone 14 models in September 2022, and has since discontinued the iPhone 14 Pro and iPhone 14 Pro Max. These devices have been replaced with the iPhone 15 Pro models. Apple still sells the iPhone 14 and iPhone 14 Plus starting at $699 and $799, respectively.

There are several configurations and colors of the iPhone 14, iPhone 14 Pro, and iPhone 14 Pro Max available for purchase. iPhone 14 models are available with up to 256GB of storage, while the iPhone 14 Pro models are available with up to 1TB of storage, with more of a discount available for the higher-capacity models.

Stock will fluctuate over time as Apple refreshes the devices that are available, so you may need to check back if you're looking for a refurbished iPhone 14 in a specific color or capacity.

All refurbished iPhones from Apple are unlocked and can be used with any carrier. Apple outfits refurbished iPhone models with new batteries, outer shells, and a fresh USB-C to Lightning cable, so they are basically identical to new in the box iPhones.

Apple also offers the same one-year warranty on refurbished iPhone models that it provides for new devices, and there is option to purchase extended AppleCare+ coverage.

Gotta imagine these aren't going to be very popular when USB-C iPhone 15 exists for not a lot more.
The average user either doesn't care about USB-C or is annoyed at the switch - case in point, my mother, who bought a 14 PM a month before the 15's dropped because she didn't want to have multiple cable types in cars and around the house.

I guess the connector is irrelevant for almost all customers. If anything, maybe some of them are pissed off because their accessories/cables are not compatible, and prefer to buy the iPhone 14. In any case, it won’t make a big difference.

A few years ago you would have been right, that's why Apple waited as long as they did. USB-C has grown up around people now to the point where this statement is no longer true.

While the iPhone 14 was a great device back then, with the upgraded 6GB of RAM, and the double ambient light sensor, it is one of the models that has aged the worst. If you don’t mind having a bigger device (I do), the iPhone 15 is a more compelling upgrade, along with an upgraded A16 SoC, faster DDR5 RAM, and better cameras. Oh, and no notch, the Dynamic Island is a cool feature.

Seeing that the upcoming iPhone SE 4th gen is going to reutilise this iPhone 14 form factor with a much upgraded internals, I wouldn’t get an iPhone 14 nowadays. Although if I had one, I would enjoy it a lot, frankly. Not more than my SE3 I have to say.

If you want an iPhone NOW, get a 15, if you can’t afford it yet, wait until September when the 16 is getting released. And if you can wait until next spring, wait for the SE 4, which will be this same iPhone 14, with one less camera, and much more capable internals.

This. The average consumer sees the port as a charging receptacle only.

Most existing iPhone users aren't looking forward to USB-C.

They should offer the Pro of previous years as refurbished... Where's 13 Pro and Pro Max?

Why are they selling a refurbished iPhone 14 non-Pro when it can still be purchased brand new [from Apple]?

They should also sell iPhone 13 mini since it is no longer available brand new [from Apple]

Maybe if the yellow ones come back into stock and they don't release a new SE soon...

I know a lot of people who don't realize you can charge a device with a cable that it didn't come with (a MacBook USB-C charger for charging an iPhone, etc.), and many people don't want to change the 3 or 5 cables they already have in their car, bedroom, kitchen, at their desk, in their backpack, because the iPhone switched to USB-C. Personally, I know more than a couple people who have some newer devices but barely have any USB-C cables yet. My sister got a new MacBook Air 2 years ago and it didn't come with one, it had MagSafe instead. She has no USB-C devices. My mom is the same way. The only thing she has is an iMac with USB-C ports, but no cables going to the other end yet. Many people just look at that and go "ugh, I don't wanna deal with changing ports and cables for my entire household".

They only sell what they have of excess stock - some trade-ins are kept and refurbished for repair stock.

Or I could just get one Brand New from AT&T for 5.99/month for 36 months, which comes out to 216 bucks. Other carriers are offering similar pricing. If you're someone who isn't moving carriers and only upgrades every few years anyway this is a much better deal.

They took my headphone jack, and I said nothing...
They took my Home button, and I said nothing...
They took my mute switch, and I said, "I'll never buy that phone. Get me a 14, and I'll take it to my grave."

They had the 13 pro a few weeks ago.

Yeah, the next SE may be the one to get for those on a tight budget (if you can hold out until next spring). USB-C, the enhanced AI capable A18 processor and improved camera will make a good choice with the next SE.
