They should also sell iPhone 13 mini since it is no longer available brand new [from Apple]

Those get sold out so quickly when they pop up on the refurb store. I got lucky and was able to snap up a 512GB Black 13 mini. Wished I’d gotten green but that was the only configuration available.

Friend it’s fine to let the mini dream go lol
Lol but it's nice to have a mini not as a daily driver since I have my own 15 Pro Max, you know?

My next iPhone will be the SE4. You know the saying goes, "Less is More." Basically that means having that fancy third camera wasn't really worth it because digital zoom on this especially extreme upclose is average at best. I just want an iPhone that's functional and can do the basic stuff that I want it to do.

I'm taking about refurbished phones. They can only sell ones people trade in.
and they will not likely sell refurbished iPhone 15 and 15 pro until the start of 2025. So if people want refurbished iPhones, they should get used to using lightning cables until they're ready for the next iPhone with USB C.

At $619, iPhone 14 is a great option for many people out there. A new iPhone 15 costs $829 plus applicable taxes (in most cases). The difference is about $230, which is approximately 1/4 off the price of iPhone 15. that is well worth it for those who are not looking at the latest and greatest devices.

I personally intend to wait until the iPhone 16 gets announced, but that shade of blue on the iPhone 14 looks really nice. 😩

Apple still sells the iPhone 14 and iPhone 14 Plus starting at $699 and $799, respectively.

Which means when iPhone 16 arrives they should be $599 and $699.

It's hilarious to me that folks here think normal people find the switch to USB-C to be some massive benefit.

If anything, it's a massive annoyance to them as they have Lightning cables all over the place from years and years of accumulation.

Uhmm, each port has its pros and cons. Between Lightning and Thunderbolt USB-C, I prefer the robustness and durability of Lightning. My iPad Pro USB-C wobbles, my Samsung SSDs (T5 and T7) most wobble a bit, and I’m worried that they could break… I think it’s not as durable and convenient as Lightning. But Lightning has bandwidth limitations, so I understand the switch to USB-C

If they made the USB-C connector stronger, I would prefer it.

What I was saying is that normal people just see "I have to buy all new cables"

The forum here and its users are very far outside the mainstream user type

But those are already very outdated!

They are iPhones. Does it ring when someone calls? Does it call someone when you dial their number? Does it sends text messages? Does it take a picture and video? Does it allow you surf the Internet or play music? Does it allow you to watch movies and YouTube? Outdated my arse.

I would be tempted, in that I really like that deep purple color on the Pro Max. Even pondered getting one back when it was new, but I had already bought the 13 PM and just couldn't justify it mainly for the color (as nice as it is).

But there are a couple of reasons why I won't. The first is we are, what, less than 4 months away from a new iPhone being introduced. Which will probably make these even less expensive at that time. And second, I still like my physical SIM card that I can easily take out and put in any phone that accepts them. I know eSIM is the future and all that, but I still like the option to have a physical SIM card.

Or I could just get one Brand New from AT&T for 5.99/month for 36 months, which comes out to 216 bucks. Other carriers are offering similar pricing. If you're someone who isn't moving carriers and only upgrades every few years anyway this is a much better deal.

Doesn't that put you under contract to AT&T for 36 months? I was just looking at their site, seems like it required at least a $79/month plan. So that would mean your deal is $216 + $2844 = $3060. Probably there are some discounts available that would reduce that some?

Compare to the ~$30/mo AT&T prepaid line (16GB data) for 36 months at $1080.

On a 4-line family plan, it’s more like $40/mo per line for unlimited premium data with employer and auto-pay discount.

Tip:
Sometimes Walmart offers deals on lower end models and theirs is instant cash discount, no monthly credit required. You can payoff the discounted balance without any prepayment penalty. Useful in case you want to unlock the phone for travel or switching to other carriers.

Thanks for the ideas, rui no onna.
Sadly, I don't have anyone to get a multiline discount with.
I'll keep on eye on Walmart deals.

But also sadly, I have my eye on a Pro Max, so maybe not low end.

I'm using a 12 Mini, bought unlocked from Apple. I would like something newer with satellite emergency support and usb-c. Possibly a new SE will have the satellite support?
