As soon as I saw the word Fandango, I deleted the notification. I have never installed or used Fandango, and I have zero interest in it.

If this made you as angry as it did for me, make sure you call Apple Support at 1-800-275-2273 and let them know how you feel about them sending you notification spam in violation of their terms of service. Make sure to remind them that you'd love to join a class action lawsuit.
Try sending the EU regulators a note they won't let other app devs send ads, only apple. They will fine apple.

Totalitarian platform lock-in? Fine (?)

Lock-screen ad? Hold my beer.

Wait until people find out the logo on the back of all their devices has been giving Apple free advertising for decades. /s

Yeah, I saw this on my wallet app too this morning. This is insulting to me as a user - I've been paying extra money to Apple for years to prevent this type of shady behavior. But now, Apple is stooping to this level? I think this is indicative of the internal rot slowly creeping through the Apple we once knew and loved.

I didn’t get any notifications, and i also open the wallet app and there was no ads in there, and I thought it was because I’m living in Europe.

So I asked Google if this was the case and the answer was:
”No, Apple does not show ads within the Wallet app in Europe”.
