New Macs on a Friday? I doubt it. More than likely just maintenance. Annoying maintenance that's preventing me from trying to do an iPhone 5 in-store pickup.

New iPods on the anniversary of Steve's death?

I don't know, it's late and that was just a wild guess. But it would be an interesting way of commemorating him.

Would apple have some sort of event first? Or do they spontaneously do product refreshes sometimes?:confused:

Do you really think Apple releases new stuff in the middle of the night.

Maintenance it is.

Oh, right. Time zones do my head in :confused:

No worries, I have the same problems, about 12-14 hours ahead of the US.

Yeah same here. It's annoying because the release events take place at like 3 in the morning :eek: but anyway, that's probably a bit off topic

Just playing the devils advocate, but why are they doing Maintenance in the middle of the night? Maybe to prepare the website for new releases tomorrow?

I"m trying to do the same thing. I was pissed off when I got home and tried to get on their site.

Because that's the most suitable time to perform maintenance on a very busy server. Just think when most people will visit the store. For example in World of Warcraft, probably world's most popular online game, Blizzard (the game's creator) performs maintenance in European servers once per week starting 1.00 CET iirc. Usually it is a restart which takes 15 minutes, but it can take hours.

Yeah I guess so, that sort of crossed my mind ;

During the three minutes it was up. I was able to order my iphone 5 white 16gb in store pick up. I received the email from apple too. :)
