Meh i don't care if they give me a Fire HD with the best specs ever but having to stare at ads every few minutes. ALready fed ads daily and i try my best to escape them.

Agreed. Whenever an app has a free and a paid version, I always buy the app so I don't have to look at any ads.

Here's a good article from the Fool which questions the love of Amazon, the stock. Amazingly over the last 9 years Amazon has spent $25B but only increased earnings by $740M. That's essentially $34 in spend for $1 increase in earnings.

I'd be curious to know how much Kindle Fire sales have increased other sales at Amazon. Are people purchasing physical goods and digital content that they wouldn't have if they didn't own a Fire?

----------

Amazon will remove ads from the Fire HD's for additional $15 bucks: http://www.engadget.com/2012/09/08/...art-will-allow-opt-out-of-kindle-fire-hd-ads/

They listened to the complaints. Attention iOS devotees: This is why people should/must voice complaints.

$15? Why not just charge that much more for the tablet and not have ads in th first place? I can see some people saying why should I have to pay to remove something I didn't want in the first place?

Who knows how Amazon figured $15 would make up for the lack of ads. Keep in mind they didn't plan to offer this in the first place. I guess now the people who don't mind ads can simply save 15 bucks.

Anyway, the main point is, it's worth being honest and vocal about shortcomings -- something a lot of iOS fans have trouble doing with Apple, and in particular with the iPhone. It's all the more important to be voal now that we know Apple actually pays very close attention to consumers.

Yeah there's a lot of little things in iOS (like Safari automatically sending you to mobile/tablet versions of websites and no way of turning it off unless the website has a link to the desktop version of their site; or not having a select all feature in the mail client so when you have a lot of junk mail you want to delete you don't have to select each email individually; or when you have multiple tabs open in Safari you get constant page refreshes, etc etc etc) that it would be great if Apple fixed them. I wonder how much they do listen to customer feedback...
