Apple Park Visitor Center Has 'Update in Progress'

There is an "update in progress" at the Apple Park Visitor Center in Cupertino, California, according to a new notice posted on Apple's website.

The building remains open to the public while the work is completed, but the area housing a 3D augmented reality model of Apple Park is temporarily closed.

"Please pardon our appearance while we improve our store," says Apple. "During this time, the Exhibition Space is temporarily closed."

Opened in November 2017, the Apple Park Visitor Center functions as both a store and a tourist attraction. While the Exhibition Space is closed for now, visitors can still grab a coffee at the on-site Caffè Macs, buy Apple merch, head up to the rooftop for a scenic view, or stroll through the adjacent "Mirage" public art installation.

Apple did not indicate when the improvements will be completed.

I was just there a month ago, it’s a beautiful space, though it very clearly was in need of maintenance. A lot of the minimalist modern details and finishes are starting to show wear and tear around the edges. Also, the milled metal model was all dinged up. Seems a refresh is in order.

That section always seemed like it was intended to use up otherwise empty space. Wonder what they'll replace it with.

Think it is only renovation in progress and there will be nothing new when it fully opens again. On a separate note, it would be nice if the Apple merchandise were available to purchase from any Apple Store in the world.

I was there and really disliked the place and the atmosphere. First of all, we chose the wrong entrance because the staff entrance to the underground parking was signed out way more prominently even though staff can be expected tongind there way. It also just said „Apple
Park“, not very distinctive.

Then the parking situation was very strange. All of the EV charging lots were kind of closed ever time I was there.

Furthermore the place was kind of packed with security, you kind of felt like a suspect.

And last not least, it’s really a mere Apple Store. Some additional stuff, granted, but still. Nothing to channel the passion of fans. A letdown.

You will still be able to buy merch - that's in the center main (store) section. The closed area is another part of the building. Enjoy.

The Exhibition space housed a model of Apple Park, but it was always supposed to have rotating exhibits. Nice to see they’re swapping out for something new. As cool as the Apple Park model is, I’ve seen enough of it.
