Ok just spoke to a friend who works at Santander UK and "mid july" is what's being bounced around internally and I was also informed of a daily £15k limit! That should cover most things :/
I thought that part was up to retailers?
I would like to be able to pay for my full shops at waitrose which are more than £20.. Either way, I'm really sadly excited to try out using my watch without my phone on me - that feels like voodoo to me...

£15K means £15,000.
I think a lot of bank accounts have daily limits like this without prior authorisation from your bank.

Apple pay won't come out tomorrow. It will be mid July at the earliest.

if this is true then it is awesome. Surely the daily mail wouldn't get this wrong?

Lol yes I know £15k is thousands, but I was referring to the current contactless limit of £20, which is useful for odd shopping but not for a full shop, and widely reported to be the initial limits set by retailers due to their machines.
I would love to be proved wrong and be able to pay for my shopping with my watch!

The update apple can do through their end. The software is in place. All it takes is for them to activate it

So, Newspapers are suggesting that apple pay is available in the UK today but I can't seem to add any cards to my passbook or anything?

Any ideas?

First Direct have tweeted today that it's not ready just yet

If set region to US you do get their T&Cs though, so probably waiting on Apple to flip a server switch somewhere

Typical Daily Mail then, lots of people on Twitter have the impression it is being released today thanks to them.
