A fix for a bug in Apple Pay that causes credit cards from Chase and others to not display the correct physical card design is being worked on, according to sources close to the situation.

There have been a few hiccups for the launch of Apple Pay this week as the company works to quickly roll out support for additional banks and card types. In addition to some glitches causing users to be overcharged and many unsupported card types, a number of users have noticed that the physical card designs for some cards aren’t displayed correctly in the Passbook app when added to Apple Pay. Instead users are presented with a generic card design and the

issuing bank’s company logo, which can be confusing for users with multiple cards from the same bank (pictured above).

Readers have reported the issue with cards not displaying correctly for Visa cards through both Chase and Citi as well as co-branded cards through several other banks. In some cases the cards don’t even have a description of the card type and only the card number to distinguish between cards from the same bank."

It's ads vs. reality

Lawmakers are committing a crime against us people by allowing us to be continually insulted by this advertising.

Nobody has time for this headache.

This is added to a big number of issues to an already glitchy payment system.

Ultimately, mobile payments will fail. It's a money loser for small merchants and they just aren't doing it.

if you can't remember your card from the last digits shown on your phone, you have bigger problems to worry about.

so just stop using it. we don't really care. you're the only one here complaining. so obviously its not a big deal. go complain to apple then and not here.

Apple definitely knows. I told them myself. And I'm not the only one complaining either but I'm not using this anymore.

Apple Pay sucks.

...I really don't think this is that big of a deal. Most people don't have enough cards where this could be a problem. Plus as others have mentioned, there's enough information in the card image to be able to tell.

Last month it was reported that almost no one is using Apple Pay. This is why.

Almost no one is using it because a) most iPhone owners have no idea this feature even exists as a feature and b) merchant acceptance is still pretty low (but improving). Not because the picture of the card is wrong.

That is NOT the reason a lot of people aren't using apple pay, you're not that smart are you? maybe pictures would help

My Capital One card shows the exact same design that is on my card as it shows in Apple Pay.

I have yet to go to a place that accepts Apple Pay so I have never had a chance to use it yet.

You have no idea what card is which because these cards are not accurate in Apple Pay.

Adults should be taking responsibility for their own money.

You'll be worried too if you used Apple Pay and the wrong card kept coming up.

Capital One and Apple still didn't fix it after they said they would and they expect people to use Apple Pay.

Now it makes sense why CVS, Walmart and Rite-Aid will not accept Apple Pay.

Watch your money!

Not using this sloppy excuse for a payment system.
what are you talking about? All my cards (4 - Cap One, Citi, AMEX, Chase) are EASILY distinguishable on watch and phone. Set a default card and forget about it. Used the watch today at Walgreens, two people ask about it, took a second to process. The lady in front of me swiped a magnetic strip card about 5 times before it read hers.

You can EASILY end up charging to the wrong card several times a day because it's so instantaneous. There's no chance to stop it.

Your finger activates the payment before you even realized it.

MOD NOTE: Thread has run its course and is becoming increasingly personal. Closing to avoid any escalation.
