I successfully paid for stuff at a newly remodeled Target in the California Bay Area using Apple Pay.

It was in the express checkout area. Selected ‘card’ as my method of payment, I noticed the green lights on the LCD display, tried it, and it worked perfectly.
Hopefully this isn’t just a temporary fluke and is a sign that Target will soon be universally accepting Apple Pay.
