Yea, I was told they "ran out" even though I was the 7th post.

Someone will have to explain that math to me.

I guess that was a nice way to get marketing data.

I'd imagine most folks just direct emailed the OP first and got in line that way.

The op hasn't been online here since the original post so that probably explains it...

Ahh, so the instruction to "post in this thread" meant absolutely nothing?

Hmmm, or maybe to get some thread activity?

Got to hand it them.

They may have been posting in other forums as well, though if not, 6 or fewer reviews is hardly a large enough sample.

It's still a very shady way of marketing.
They could have said they had 100 for review and shipped 2 and gathered all that info and no one would know.
Just reviewing this "marketing campaign" in this thread. 2 people said they got a shipping notice, one guy who posted well after me.

I don't care about winning a $9 accessory, I just don't want my time wasted and my information gathered when there was zero chance to be picked.

Let's see how many "reviews" get posted here.

I can assure you it won't be "30 for MacRumors forum users"

Fair points. Now I'm wondering if they wanted reviews posted here vs. at Amazon.

Speculation but I agree with others, the review is meant for Amazon. This is a good way to boost the product by showing actual "verified" purchases.

I wil for sure post a review there once I get the product and test it for a few days.

I got mine at the end of last week and i absolutely love it. Had an extra iphone cube laying around and now i have a dedicated pencil charger. The pencil doesnt sit flush against the charging adapter base, but its not enough where youll break it unless you try. It charges my pencil in about 40 minutes from 0% to 100%. In the 25 minutes its been since i took these picures and posting this now its charged from 45% to 78%

I received my TechMatte Apple Pencil 3ft charging adapter on the same day of the 9.7" iPad Pro release. Overall, I agree with SS4Luck's review and think it is a fantastic product that fills an important gap in Apple's official accessory offerings. I travel a fair amount and like to have 2 sets of chargers for my electronics - one left at home at home in my office or on my bed stand, and another set in my travel bag. I have no reservations in recommending TechMatte's USB Apple Pencil charging cable" (3 ft. cable with male USB and female lighting) to any Apple Pencil owners. I believe that $8.99 is a fair asking price since this product simply a basically a 3ft USB to lighting cable ($19.00) combined with an Apple Pencil charging adapter ($4.95 + 6.95 in shipping charges). Plus, the official Apple Pencil charging adapter (P/N 923-00817) is not currently available for purchase in stores and can only be obtained by contacting Apple support or by visiting an Apple Store and talking with a genius. If you much have a perfect replacement for the Apple version pencil charging adapter, I suggest ordering a few so you aren't getting screwed over on shipping charges. With a price difference of nearly $22.00, it was an easy choice for me and is highly recommended.
While I have not had the chance to personally test TechMatte's other Apple Pencil charging adapters (1ft or 3ft cables with a male lighting connecting on one end with a female lighting connector on the other end), they are similarly priced and I wouldn't hesitate to purchase those products.

Disclosures / Conflicts of Interest: I did receive this product free of charge in order to provide an honest review. TechMatte had no input or copy approval on this review. At no point in time did TechMatte have 'copy approval' and was never given the opportunity to suggest changes or suggest changes to my review. My review represents my personal opinions and my opinions alone.

Question....

What widget shows you Apple Pencil and iPad charge status as shown in one of your pictures?
Thanks for the help, in advance, with this answer.

It's the Battery widget. I believe it is enabled by default in the Today view, but do check to make sure by pressing the Edit button.
